Chapman Valley Northampton “A”

versus Towns

ROUND 3 @ Nabawa

By Jarovegimite Formeandad

Chapman Valley Northampton 59 – David Kupsch 19, Anthony Jones 12 Towns 9 for 185 - Jamie Criddle 4-23 off 12, Anthony Jones 3-34 off 8 On a sticky wicket, captain Ninge pulled out his 2 headed coin and watched the offending captain call “Heads”. With all 11 batsman padded up, we set about getting this game over with early. All out for 59- that should help finish early. With Choggy hurling abuse our way, we had to go and field for 17 overs due to the fact that the afternoon tea was not cooked yet. With no real total to defend, the boys put up a brave fight in the field and a bit of sledging from Big Boy Cragan went a long way to humouring the boys in the middle. The shining light of the bowlers was Beetroot Criddle, who looked like he had been shining the ball on his forehead all day. He said he wasn’t puffed- but he sure looked it!! Bowling with precision, he managed to nearly pick up the first fivefa in the A-Grade. A.J bowled well and finished with 3 wickets also. At one stage the opposition were 7 for 110 before someone mentioned beer at the final drinks break. After that we may have lost a little interest and it was in the last over when we saw Damo “Doug Bollinger” Giles get a little bit of rough treatment. That was a big 6. We bowled and fielded well. Sergio Merandaz was unlucky with a few catches dropped off his bowling. They were all very difficult chances, especially the one Kaine Cragan never got a hand to. The batsman should get some confidence back this week playing on a hard deck in Dongara.
