national headache week June 1 to 7 is National Headache Week. Nearly everyone has had an “occasional” headache – that is pretty normal. It is those severe, lengthy, or recurrent headaches which should concern you. The signs and symptoms of a headache depend on what type you have. Here are the primary types: Tension: Steady pain over your entire head on both sides. The pain may feel like a tight band or vice putting pressure around your head. This is the most common type. Migraine: Severe pain felt on one, and sometimes, both sides of your head. The pain is mostly in front around your temples or behind one eye or ear. Nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound may also occur. This may last a few hours to a couple days.
