THE MAKING OF ME
Thomas Edison once said, “I did not have my mother long, but she cast over me an influence which has lasted all my life. The good effects of her early training I can never lose. If it had not been for her appreciation and her faith in me at a critical time in my experience, I should never likely have become an inventor. I was always a careless boy, and with a mother of different mental caliber, I should have turned out badly. But her firmness, her sweetness, her goodness, were potent powers to keep me in the right path. My mother was the making of me. The memory of her will always be a blessing to me.”

Purely Gospel and Good News Burmese Food Festival: There are many Burmese food festivals at Bay Area and every food festival is packed with people because our Burmese people like to meet with friends and eat traditional food. Thanks God that we have talented and dedicated cooks especially in Burmese food. We will have food festival this Saturday at Little theatre, Daly City as fund-raising for the Gospel Music Production ministries. Bring friends and families there, we will start at 3:00 pm. Gospel Music Concert: There is no good news in the business world, political world, and in social environment at local or global. We hear bad news each day on media. But don't worry, we have a good news to tell you through beautiful gospel songs. Our talented AGAPE music band with our own vocalists and performers will proclaim the good news this Saturday. Do not miss this special event. Hope to see you all. Pos t ed by Pas t or Lat t Y is hey Labels : Gos pel Conc ert

8/21/2009 A PSALM OF PRAISES PSALM 95:1-7 NLT
1 Come,
let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him. 3 For the LORD is a great God, a great King above all gods. 4 He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains. 5 The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land, too. 6 Come,
let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the LORD our maker, 7 for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care.
First Burmese Baptist Church are so exciting to celebrate another fun and joyous VBS this year again. They were taught the word of God by dedicated teachers, they were fed with varieties of their favorite food, they were surrounded with loving parents and volunteers, and they were filled with the love of God throughout previous VBSs. There will be indoor and outdoor activities during these four days closing with swimming pool party. Please contact Sunday School teachers for early registration or scholarship program. See list of contact persons on the poster. "This is not only the children's ministry, but it is also an entire church ministry", says Ma Shirley Choo, our Sunday School director. We encourage everyone to participate in this once-a-year special event for the teaching and caring ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. Pos t ed by Pas t or Lat t Y is hey Labels : VB S

An Evening with full of Praises
How can we sing a joyful praises amidst this time of economic depression? Psalmist also recorded that "How can we sing the Lord's song in the strange land?" (Psalm 137:4). But we have answer for these questions. One of a praise songs our praise team have sung over and over again was, "How can I k eep from singing your praise... how can I ever say enough... how amazing is your love... how can I k eep from shouting your name..." Singing praises comes from our hearts, not depends on the circumstances around us. Come and sing, shout, dance, and praise with our two special praise teams and musicians this Saturday, June 13, 2009, 6:00-7:30 pm at our Church. THE YEAR OF OX
(Sharing a very touching story about a little girl's donation of 57 Cents for the church building transformed entirely. Hope you will be inspired) 57 Cents: A sobbing little girl stood near a small church from which she had been turned away because it 'was too crowded'. "I can't go to Sunday School," she sobbed to the pastor as he walked by. Seeing her shabby, appearance, the pastor guessed the reason and, taking her by the hand, took her inside and found a place for her in the Sunday School class. The child was so touched that she went to bed that night thinking of the children who have no place to worship Jesus. Some two years later, this child lay dead in one of the poor tenement buildings and the parents called for the kind-hearted pastor, who had befriended their daughter, to handle the final arrangements. As her poor little body was being moved, a worn and crumpled purse was found which seemed to have been rummaged from some trash dump. Inside was found 57 cents and a note scribble in childish handwriting which read, "This is to help build the little church bigger so more children can go to Sunday school." For two years she had saved for this offering of love. When the pastor tearfully read that note, he knew instantly what he would do. Carrying this note and the cracked, red pocketbook to the pulpit, he told the story of her unselfish love and devotion. He challenged his deacons to get busy and raise enough money for the larger building. But the story does not end there! A newspaper learned of the story and published it. It was read by a realtor who offered them a parcel of land

worth many thousands. When told that the church could not pay so much, he offered it for a 57 cent payment. Church members made large subscriptions. Checks came from far and wide. Within five years the little girl's gift had increased to $250,000.00 - a huge sum for that time (near the turn of the century). Her unselfish love had paid large dividends. When you are in the city of Philadelphia, look up Temple Baptist Church, with a seating capacity of 3,300, and Temple University, where hundreds of students are trained. Have a look, too, at the Good Samaritan Hospital and at a Sunday School building which houses hundreds of Sunday scholars, so that no child in the area will ever need to be left outside at Sunday school time. In one of the rooms of this building may be seen the picture of the sweet face of the little girl whose 57 cents, so sacrificially saved, made such remarkable history. Alongside of it is a portrait of her kind pastor, Dr. Russel H. Conwell, author of the book, "Acres of Diamonds." Author unknown Pos t ed by Pas t or Lat t Y is hey Labels : New Building
Youth and Young Adult Camp 2009
On Memorial Day weekend, Juniors, youth, and young adult fellowships gathered together at Jennesss Park Christian Camp under the theme "LOVE LIFE" based on Ephesians 5:1-2. God has used young leadership team to lead the young people to study, to share, to discuss, and to fellowship under the Holy Spirit. It was so blessed to see young people enjoying the word of God. Praise the Lord and give thanks to Almighty God for He has given each and everyone a "loving mother." We all have rich experiences about sacrificial love of our mothers. God commanded us to honor and obey our parents in order to receive blessings and long lives. "Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee." (Exodus 20:12) Come to church this Sunday to worship God through Mother's day celebration. Pos t ed by Pas t or Lat t Y is hey Labels : Spec ial S unday
