Policies and Procedures

Queens High Preschool Trust The trust is responsible for creating and reviewing

all policies to ensure effective governance of the Queens High Preschool. Policies will be regularly reviewed including consultation with the community on a three year rotation but can be reviewed at any time if required. The philosophy and policies will determine our strategic plan which determines are annual budget The supervisor will develop in conjunction with the staff procedures to ensure the effective management of the pre school. The buildings and playgrounds play an important part in our children’s learning and development. The Queens High Preschool Trust recognises this and will provide high quality buildings and playgrounds, ensure the maintenance and cleaning is of the highest standard and budget money annually

• Purpose •

The Trust will allocate monies in the annual budget towards the maintenance and up keep of the buildings and playground The Trust and Management will organise working bees where appropriate for routine maintenance and raise money for capital works. The Trust will review cleaning contracts annually The Trust will sign off a monthly Maintenance Report form, identify common hazards and act upon them.

The Trust will appoint an auditor at the AGM. Audited accounts will be presented to the community at the AGM. Monthly accounts will be presented to the Trust. The Trust will prepare a budget for the following year based upon roll projections, staffing numbers and needs of QHSPS Fees will be reviewed annually to ensure that we can afford to provide the highest quality education. The Trust have the power to terminate any enrolled child's position for non paying of fees after all reasonable steps have been taken by the managers . The trust will authorise payments over $500 Unbudgeted spending over $250 needs to be passed by chair or finance committee The Supervisor and assistant supervisor has authority to purchase items as per the

Effective governance is critical to the success of the Queens High Preschool. The Trust provides the checks and balances to ensure the highest quality educational programme.

The Trust will follow the rules of the constitution at all times, any changes to the constitution can only be achieved through the AGM or a SGM. The Trust will review the Statement of Philosophy annually prior to the AGM. The trust will consult with the community on a range of issues to ensure that its members are happy with the services they are receiving and identify the next step for the preschool. The Trust will prioritise places for the staff and students of Queens High School, siblings and then to first time enrolments. The Trust will be responsible for

The people that work with our children are the most important asset. We are committed to the teacher registration process and recognise that quality teaching requires support for its teachers and management. To comply with the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 1. and the Health and Safety in Employment Amendment Act 2002 The physical, emotional and mental 2. safety of the children while in the care of the queens high preschool is 3. paramount. The committee will work 4. with the management and staff to ensure procedures are in place to 5. protect our children at all times. The Management and staff will implement the associated procedures to ensure that the children are safe at all times. When the management and staff review or make changes to a procedure the management will report the changes to the committee and the reasons for the changes. In the event of an emergency procedure being put into effect (5,6,7,8,12,15) the management will report back to the committee on the effectiveness of the procedure The Trust will sign off the monthly incident report and track common incidents. The trust will do all in its power to make the Queens High Pre School an emotionally and physical safe place for its staff and to seek support for any staff member who may need it.
