- New section of the book of Proverbs put in order by the men of King Hezekiah; The king of Judah.

- Even though the Book of Proverbs seems to be a book of miscellaneous and random sayings, we should be diligent in studying the order in which the Holy Spirit lays out the book. Ecclesiastes And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people 12:9 knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs. Outline of the Book of Proverbs • Wisdom and Folly Contrasted Prov 1– 9 • Proverbs of Solomon Prov 10–24 (Written and set in order by himself) • Proverbs of Solomon Prov 25–29 (Set in order by men of Hezekiah) • Oracle of Agur Prov 30 • Proverbs of Lemuel’s Mother Prov 31 King Hezekiah is a descendent of King Solomon. King Hezekiah ruled from 715 – 687 BC King Hezekiah Restored the true forms of worship in Israel. II Chronicles Now when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities 31:1 of Judah, and brake the images in pieces, and cut down the groves, and threw down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had utterly destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities. II Chronicles And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites after their 31:2 courses, every man according to his service, the priests and Levites for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in

the gates of the tents of the LORD. Proverbs 25 Pr These are also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out. 25:1 Pr It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. 25:2 Q. Are there hidden messages in the text? A. Absolutely. And they all glorify Jesus Christ. There are dozens of different kinds of encryptions embedded underneath the text. This is a call for kings to use diligence when studying the text. In Proverbs 25:2 the word “thing” and the word “matter” are both the same word and they both mean the word “word” when translated from the Hebrew word Dabar H1697. thing: 1697 note: the same word is used for matter: 1697

In the New Testament the word “thing” and the word “matter” are also both the same word, and they both mean the word “word” when translated from the Greek word Logos G3056; Which also refers to Christ, God’s Word, in John 1:1 John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Greek word for “thing” and “matter” also means the word “word” and also stands for God’s word in the New Testament. Mark But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, 1:45 insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.

God rewards those who seek him out: It is the glory of God to conceal the Word: but the honour of kings is to search out the Word. Everything in the bible points to Jesus. John Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they 5:39 which testify of me. Jesus is in every book of the bible. Beginning at Moses and all the prophets and every book in the Old Testament and New Testament. Luke And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a 24:23 vision of angels, which said that he was alive. Luke And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it 24:24 even so as the women had said: but him they saw not. Luke Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the 24:25 prophets have spoken: Luke Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 24:26 Luke And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the 24:27 scriptures the things concerning himself. As we study to show ourselves approved, the Spirit of truth, is come to guide you into all truth. John Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for 16:13 he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. John He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you. 16:14 John All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of 16:15 mine, and shall show it unto you. All scripture is given by inspiration of God. Even though the bible is written by different writers over a period of about 1600 years, the entire bible is an integrated message system written entirely by Holy Spirit inspired men outside of our time domain. The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings is unsearchable. It’s interesting that we have never been to the bottom of the earth’s ocean floor.

Pr 25:4

Pr 25:5

And it’s also interesting that the heavens seem to have no end. Just like the word of God is inexhaustible and has no end. Search for wisdom like hidden treasures: Proverbs 2:1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; Proverbs 2:2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Proverbs 2:3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; Proverbs 2:4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Proverbs 2:5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. One of my most rewarding moments in studying the scripture was studying the seventy weeks of Daniel: Daniel Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish 9:24 the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God 11:6 must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. and the heart of kings is unsearchable: Romans O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how 11:33 unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! Romans For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? 11:34 Romans Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? 11:35 Romans For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for 11:36 ever. Amen. Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer. “Dross” is used eight times in scripture. “Silver” is used twelve times in the book of Proverbs. Removal of the dross is the removal of impurities. How is God removing the dross out of your life? Proverbs The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the 17:3 hearts. Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness. Having good advisers and people who are good influences around us is important. Isaiah Therefore saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will 1:24 ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies: Isaiah And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take 1:25 away all thy tin: Isaiah And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the 1:26 beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

Pr 25:6 Pr 25:7

Isaiah Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness. 1:27 Put not forth thyself in the presence of the king, and stand not in the place of great men: For better it is that it be said unto thee, Come up hither; than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince whom thine eyes have seen. Luke 21:36

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Luke 14:7 Luke 14:8 Luke 14:9 Luke 14:10

Pr 25:8

And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them, When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him; And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room. But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. Luke For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself 14:11 shall be exalted. Go not forth hastily to strive, lest thou know not what to do in the end thereof, when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame. Luke 14:28 Luke 14:29 Luke 14:30 Luke 14:31

For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? Luke Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and 14:32 desireth conditions of peace. Luke So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot 14:33 be my disciple. Debate thy cause with thy neighbour himself; and discover not a secret to another:

Pr 25:9 Pr Lest he that heareth it put thee to shame, and thine infamy turn not away. 25:10 Matthew 5:25 Matthew

Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast

paid the uttermost farthing.

Matthew 18:15

Pr 25:11

Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. Matthew But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the 18:16 mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. Matthew And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect 18:17 to hear the church, let him be unto thee as a heathen man and a publican. A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

Apples of gold in pictures of silver is a picture of beauty and great value, just like saying the right thing at the right time. Proverbs Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's 27:9 friend by hearty counsel. Pr As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient 25:12 ear. What better to go with a word fitly spoken, than an ear that appreciates that word? When someone that you trust gives you a correction, then you learn and benefit from it. Proverbs Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. 27:17 Colossians Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know 4:6 how ye ought to answer every man. Pr As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: 25:13 for he refresheth the soul of his masters. Harvest time was usually hot in Israel, but some people used to go to the top of Mt. Herman and bring down snow as refreshment. It is always refreshing when you send someone on a mission and they execute that mission faithfully. Proverbs Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who 20:6 can find? Pr Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain. 25:14 It is disappointing to meet people, who pretend to have received a gift which they never had, or boast of great accomplishments and good services, but it is all false; People who make false promises are disappointing. But false prophets who speak presumptuously or lie in the name of God will be destroyed. II Peter But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false 2:1 teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. II Peter And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of 2:2 truth shall be evil spoken of. II Peter And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of 2:3 you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. II Peter For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and

2:4 II Peter 2:5 II Peter 2:6 II Peter 2:7 II Peter 2:8 II Peter 2:9 II Peter 2:10

delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

Jude 1:4

Pr 25:15

For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. Jude I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the 1:5 Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. Jude And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he 1:6 hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Jude Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving 1:7 themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Jude Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak 1:8 evil of dignities. Jude Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the 1:9 body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. Jude But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know 1:10 naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. Jude Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the 1:11 error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. Jude These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding 1:12 themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; Jude Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom 1:13 is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. By long forbearing is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh the bone. Gideon with a soft tongue pacified the Ephraimites and Abigail turned away David’s wrath.

Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith,

25:16 and vomit it. In the Old Testament, honey illustrates natural sweetness. But don’t overdo it. Pr Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee. 25:17 Be careful not to wear out your welcome: Pr A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp 25:18 arrow. maul: 4650 #ypm Mephiyts (may-feets'); Noun Masculine, Strong #: 4650 1. scatterer, disperser, scattering club Pr Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of 25:19 joint. Psalm For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither 55:12 was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him: Psalm But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance. 55:13 Psalm We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company. 55:14 Psalm Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness 55:15 is in their dwellings, and among them. Psalm As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me. 55:16 Pr As he that taketh away a garment in cold weather, and as vinegar upon nitre, so is he that 25:20 singeth songs to an heavy heart. Job 19:2 How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words? Pr If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to 25:21 drink: Pr For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee. 25:22 Sermon on the mount: Matthew Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate 5:43 thine enemy. Matthew But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to 5:44 them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; Matthew That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh 5:45 his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. Romans 12:19

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Romans Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so 12:20 doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Romans Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. 12:21 On the other hand: Proverbs Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when 24:17 he stumbleth: Proverbs Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath 24:18 from him. The north wind driveth away rain: so doth an angry countenance a backbiting tongue.

Pr 25:23 Pr It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide 25:24 house.

Pr 25:25

Proverbs 27:15 A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike. As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

Philemon I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers, 1:4 Philemon Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and 1:5 toward all saints; Philemon That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the 1:6 acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. Philemon For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the 1:7 saints are refreshed by thee, brother. Pr A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt 25:26 spring. The corruption of not speaking up when we should. The only thing required for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. The goal of a righteous person is to stand for truth. Ephesians And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather 5:11 reprove them. Ephesians For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in 5:12 secret. Ephesians But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for 5:13 whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Pr It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory. 25:27 Galatians 6:3 Galatians 6:4 Galatians 6:5

For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden.

Pr He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. 25:28 A city without walls is easily overtaken. Luke When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, 11:24 seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. Luke And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. 11:25 Luke Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; 11:26 and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
