News Journal #2 International I. Apple Takes iPhone Across Atlantic London As of Tuesday, Apple has taken its million-selling must across the Atlantic. Apple’s iPhone will go on sale in Britain November 9th. When sold in Britain, they will be sold at about $536 including the British added tax, so that’s $139 more than the price sold in the United States. National II. Prosecutors file charges against Simpson United States, Las Vegas Prosecutors filed charges against O.J Simpson on Tuesday for committed 10 felonies including, kidnapping, in the armed robbery of sports memorabilia collectors in a casino-hotel room. The man was arrested after a group of armed men busted into his hotel room taking a few items he claimed belonged to him. Simpson insisted that he was not armed and simply came in to retrieve property that was stolen from him. Local III. Bay Area Traffic Second Worst in the Nation United States, Bay Area The bay area has been stalled at number 2 for the worst traffic right behind our neighbors from the south, Los Angeles. The Washington and Atlanta metropolitan area are tied with the bay area for the worst traffic as measured by hours on an annual delay per driver. Commuters have been slowed down to an average of 60 hours a year, while Los Angeles commutes are stalled at 72 hours a year, while the national average is at 54 hours.

Social IV. Experts: Elderly most at-risk in suicide United States A recent study shows that the elderly are at most risk for committing suicide. As mental health experts say, the number of elderly suicides is likely to increase. The overall U.S. suicide rate is 11 per 100,000 people. But for those 65 and older, that figure rises to 14 per 100,000, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which based its findings on 2004 data, the most recent available. Sports V. Texas pitcher Padilla gets seven-game ban Miami Texas Ranger’s Vicente Padilla has been suspended for seven games leading from the incident during Sunday’s clash with the Oakland Athletics. Vicente accidentally hit Oakland’s Nick Swisher with a pitch, and so he got in a fight with Vicente because he has been getting hit by a baseball in multiple games.
