US military deaths in Iraq at 3,945 Middle East, Iraq As of Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at least 3,945 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the Iraq War in March 2003. The counting includes eight military civilians. At least 3,211 died as a result of hostile action, according to the military's numbers. National II. Feds nab woman accused of ID thefts Tinley Park A woman, who was suspected of stealing other people's identities and duping some of the country's top universities into admitting her and giving her student loans, was arrested on Saturday. Esther Elizabeth Reed, 29, was arrested in Tinley Park. Reed also used the stolen identities to obtain more than $100,000 in student loans, according to the Secret Service. Local III. Intel Releases New Chip That Will Double Processor Speeds Santa Clara, California Chipmaker Intel has built a new computer chip packed with a record 2 billion transistors. Adding more processing engines to chips boosts their performance and improves their ability to juggle many different tasks at the same time. The new microchips will more than double the processing power for a line of chips used in supercomputers.

McCain and Romney battle over who is conservative New York Republican presidential candidates John McCain and Mitt Romney argued on Monday over who is the real conservative with their battle headed toward a Super Tuesday climax. McCain believes Romney will win California. He exclaimed he was confident he would do well across the country but that Romney had spent millions on advertising in California Sports V. A Giant upset and no perfection for Pats Glendale, Arizona When stakes were at their highest, Eli Manning created one of the best drives in Super Bowl history to help lead the New York Giants into victory on Sunday. Manning led the Giants 83 yards in just more than two minutes, and gave a pass for a touchdown, with 35 seconds left; leading the team to victory.
