Narrative Report FLAG RETREAT Once every week, each Friday of the school days, for 4 times a month, members and officers of Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP), Supreme Student Government (SSG) and the Junior Police (JP) from Pines City National High School held their weekly flag retreat at the PCNHS school grounds after the 3’oclock dismissal of the students. Students from the said organization forms an orderly line wherein our National Anthem, entitled ‘Lupang Hinirang’ are sung by the associates. While singing, BSP and JP members recognize our nationality by saluting to the Philippine flag whilst it is being brought down by the companions of BSP. In line with this, SSG officers acknowledge our ethnicity by putting their right hand on the chest where our heart lays, a common gesture of Filipinos that has shown massive respect to our race. Students, teachers, security guards, and other School personnel who are in the vicinity of the flag retreat shall stand, stop whatever he/she is doing, pay respect and might as well sing the National Anthem. It is must to stop whatever a person is doing because what can be more important than showing your love for your nationality? In lieu with this motion, even students who are not in the vicinity but can hear the melody of the National Anthem being played, they stand, sing, put their hands on top of their chests, and stop nevertheless in order to show their patriotism. As you look around during this event, people from PCNHS are rooted to their spots until the occurrence is done. No one is in motion and all are being united. This flag retreat has been a tradition to PCNHS family and will still be instilled to the next generations of students of Pines City National High School. -SSG Treasurer
