NARRATIVE REPORT

After we played the video we saw an instructor holding a frog while the class was watching as she discuss and dictate to the students what she is doing. She said that using the index finger hold the nose of the frog to pull it down, and using the pithing needle or probe make an imaginary line on the posterior border of the eyes of the frog, after it she position the needle in the center and pinned by pushing it down targeting the cranial part of the brain. To know that she successfully pithed the frog the instructor poked or touched the right eye to check the corneal reflex because if it didn't moved or blink then she did it right. Using the dissecting scissors, the frog was cut from the upper jaw horizontally to the right to see the spinal canal. Again, using the needle or probe she inserted it to the canal to paralyze it and to check if she successfully did it right she just pinched the lower limbs and there was no response like moving so it was successful. The purpose of doing it according to the instructor is that to paralyze and make the forgot brain dead while the dissection was happening for it not to feel pain. After paralyzing the frog, using the dissecting scissors the skin was cut from the belly or inferior part of the frog and also same with the lower posterior part being too careful not to cut the flesh and the whole structure. Right after, we saw how the instructor skinned the inferior part of the frog until to the tip of the toes. And the she put the on the dissecting table in a dorsal or prone position. And then at the femur part of the limb the instructor looked for the silvery thread-like nerve of the frog and when it was touched or poked the limb where it is was slightly moving, indicating that the frog was still alive. After it the instructor separated the Achilles tendon by cutting it on the end, and for the final part, the lower right limb of the frog was cut from the iliac then it was done.
