vinoth friends dot confuse the ancient name for zero is 'pazh' which means nothing or void. refer tholkappaiam. tamils were the first ones to use zero.actually in ancient times zero is represented by a dot. to enlighten the dot they encircled it .later the dot disappeared. the present hindu arabic numerals came out of tamil numeral.

vinoth $archana i can even point out before einstien our great scholars had the knowledge about theory of relativity . go read thriuvasagam or siddhar songs u can find it. what i told about the arabic numerals is 100 percent true . it is evident that arabic derived number system from india. at ancient times tamils and arbians were masters in sea trade. by this contact they got the number system. there were diferent scripts used by tamils at different era. if u see 2nd CE tamils numerals that has similiarities with present japenese
