Meeting the need Once again, McKendree has answered the call in meeting the need of those in our community that are doing what they can to get back on track. Another season of Room In The Inn has come to a close. For 21 consecutive weeks we fed, clothed, and provided shelter for fourteen of Nashville’s working homeless. Along with providing for their physical needs we fed them spiritually and allowed them to see Jesus in us. I want to thank everyone who participated in this important ministry. Every task from making beds to providing meals or staying overnight was deeply appreciated by every man. I’m told by administrators at the Campus for Human Development (now called officially “Room In The Inn”) that McKendree is rated as a “favorite” by the men who attend our facility. A special word of thanks goes to Andrew Skipper for sharing his living quarters, hospitality, and spiritual encouragement with the men. Thanks, also, to Ed Harris
my number one back-up who stayed overnight several times when we needed extra help. With gratitude, Ron Patterson Growing the Vine If you would like more information or are interested in volunteering at the main Room In The Inn campus: 532 8th Ave. South - Nashville, TN 37202 615.251.3274 - roomintheinn.org If you have items for adult men that you would like to donate (toiletries, undergarments, etc.) the church will still accept these throughout the year. It’s never too early to volunteer for NEXT YEAR! Call or email the church office today!
Worthy of mentioning As a church, I don’t feel that it’s ever necessary to pat ourselves on the back when we’ve “done good.” After all, as Christians we are called to humbly go above and beyond the call for others. Our Church Administrator and New Wine coordinator Jordan Callaway has been diligent in personally reaching out to the visitors that come through our doors. The email to the right is a reply from an out-of-town one-time visitor to McKendree. Again, we don’t show this in a boastful manner, but rather as a reminder that the little things can really make a difference and that living for Christ in every moment of our lives will reveal Jesus to people that need to see Him.
* If you would like to help in following up with visitors, please contact Jordan Callaway at the church office or by emailing him:
