1. Describe the characteristics of 'school readiness and the factors that can affect children's readiness for school. GUIDANCE Produce a detailed leaflet that includes information for new practitioners. The leaflet should include a description of the characteristic of 'school readiness' and the factors to consider that can affect children's readiness for school. Leaflet should be a minimum of 800 words. 2. Explain how you can support children to prepare for school. GUIDANCE In your own words discuss how you and your setting support children to prepare for school. Include details on activities you can do, communication with the school and parents/carers and visits. Minimum 600 words. 3. Describe the areas of learning in the EYFS which relate to school readiness. GUIDANCE Produce a chart to show the different areas of learning in the EYFS. Within your chart you must ensure you highlight and describe how the areas of learning specifically relate to school readiness. Min of 400 words 4. Identify the different assessment strategies in relation to the EYFS. GUIDANCE Identify the different assessment strategies for the EYFS. You could include examples of your settings observations or assessment records as supporting evidence. Min 300 words. 5. Evaluate the EYFS assessment process in supporting children to prepare for school. GUIDANCE In your own words provide a detailed evaluation of the assessment processes which supports children to prepare for school. How affective do you think these are? Min 700 words. 6. Demonstrate how you are able to work in partnership with others to support children to prepare for school. GUIDANCE Complete 2 session sheets that show how you have worked with Key workers, colleagues and the SENCO from your setting to prepare children for school. You should include the following details: • how you have shared information with these colleagues in line with current frameworks. • how you have supporting individual needs of children during transition. There are several other professionals that you may work with to prepare children for school, you may not have experience of working with all of these
so you will need to provide a written explanation stating how you would work with the other professionals outside of your setting, this could include and is not limited to occupational therapists, autism specialists class teachers/representatives. Your written explanation should be a minimum of 500 words. 7. Demonstrate how you have worked with parents/carers in preparation for school readiness. GUIDANCE Complete 2 session sheets that show how you and your setting have worked with parents/carers to prepare children for school. The session sheets should show how you and your setting have, encouraged parents/carers to take an active role in their child’s play, learning and development in preparation for school readiness. Each session sheet should be completed in full and be a minimum of 250 words
