MODULE 1 LEARNING ACTIVITY 1 REFLECTIVE/SUMMARY

In this activity, I have learned to understand, apply, and compare the social functions, text structures, and lexico-grammatical features of personal letters in regard to the contexts, the receivers and the purposes of letters and to apply the knowledge to engage in social functions with personal letters, in contextually acceptable text structures and lexicogrammatical features.

The key features of personal letters include social function in which to share the purpose of letters;

text

structure

which

indicate

heading

(date

and

name

of

senders),

greeting/salutation, body (introduction and content), closing and signature of the letters; and lexico-grammatical feature which indicates the simple present or past tense used in letters. What I like most about this activity is to create personal letters.. What I need to improve/learn more is an ability to analyze the personal letters by considering the social function, text structure and lexico-grammatical feature.
