Schmidt Campaign Asks U.S. Attorney to Investigate Wulsin’s Federally Required Financial Disclosures Cincinnati, Ohio – The Schmidt for Congress campaign today asked the United States Attorney to investigate allegations that Victoria Wulsin failed to file and filed false information on her federal financial disclosure documents. In September the Schmidt campaign had asked Mrs. Wulsin to correct or amend her federally required filings, to date she has refused to do so. “It is unfortunate that Mrs. Wulsin has forced us to make this request,” Bruce Pfaff, Schmidt Campaign Spokesman, said. “She and her campaign have a legal and ethical responsibility to file timely and accurate reports; obviously she feels she is above the law.” According to the Schmidt campaign, Wulsin failed to file a report in 2005 the first year she became a candidate for Congress. She also filed inaccurate reports in 2006 and 2007 a clear violation of the law. A 1,100 acre farm she owns in Pike County suddenly appeared in a financial disclosure report this year even though she has owned it since 1993. Additionally, she failed to report any income from its operation prior to this year even though it appears to be a working farm. “We gave Mrs. Wulsin more than ample time to correct her filings, her failure to do so shows an obvious disregard for the public’s right to know and the rule of law,” added Pfaff. “If she has nothing to hide why won’t she correct her filing?”
