Schmidt Campaign Calls on Wulsin to Fix False Information on Federal Financial Disclosure Forms Cincinnati, Ohio -- Today the Campaign Spokesman for Congresswoman Jean Schmidt issued a warning to her Democrat opponent Victoria Wulsin to correct false information on her federal financial disclosure documents or face formal charges. “This is the third election that Ms. Wulsin has made an issue of corruption and cleaning up Washington, but apparently her words are nothing more than empty rhetoric,” Bruce Pfaff, Schmidt Campaign Spokesman, said. Wulsin has been required by law to file personal financial disclosure statements since she first ran for Congress in 2005, yet there are several inconsistencies in those reports with assets appearing in some and not in others. Pfaff said that Ms. Wulsin has violated the law and her oath in her own personal financial disclosure documents. A 1,100 acre farm she owns in Pike County suddenly appeared in a financial disclosure report this year even though she has owned it since 1993. And even though it appears to be a working farm, no income has ever been reported from its operation. “It’s time for some real honesty from Ms. Wulsin. More importantly, it is time for some honest answers. When you sign these disclosure forms you swear under penalty of law they are correct. That is clearly not the case,” Pfaff added. Wulsin has not, according to her discloser documents, held a job since 2004 when she left the Heimlich Institute; a claim she has also made in the media and on her resume, yet her financial disclosure filings list no income. “If Ms. Wulsin did work for the Heimlich Institute as she claims, how much did she make and who paid her? It’s the only job she has had in four years—surely she hasn’t forgotten,” Pfaff questioned. -more-

Wulsin has reported to the Federal Election Commission she had taken $4000 from Congressman Rangel’s committees. “In an effort to be fair, we will not file a complaint with Federal authorities for 10 days. That ought to give Ms. Wulsin enough time to sort out what untruths have been reported and amend all of her disclosures. If she fails to do so, she leaves us with little choice,” Pfaff concluded.
