U.S. military deaths in Iraq at 3,741 Middle East, Iraq As of September 4, 2007, the dead toll of U.S troops in Iraq has risen to 3,741. 3,741 U.S troops have fallen in Iraq since the beginning of the war in March of 2003, including 7 military civilians. It is said at least 3,065 troops have died because of hostile action. National II. Adventurer Steve Fossett's plane missing United States, Nevada Steve Fosset, an adventurer who has cheated death again and again in his pursuit of aviation records, was missing on Tuesday after taking off in a single engine plane. Searchers had little to work with for Mr. Fosset supposedly didn’t file a flight plan. Steve Fosset took off at 8:45 on Monday 70 miles southeast of Reno. A friend reported him missing when he didn’t return.

Local III. Bay Bridge Reopens United States, California The Bay Bridge reopened on Monday, September 3, after being closed for repairs at 5:52 p.m. This reopening simplified the lives of many labor day travelers. Within minutes of the reopening of the bridge, cars streamed into the bridge in both directions. The construction went much faster than expected and finished at 2:46 a.m.

Social IV. Brad Pitt says he and Angelina Jolie are ready for another child Venice, Italy Brad Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie say they are ready for another child. At the moment, the two already have four children born to the couple, and the other three which are adopted close in age from Cambodia, Vietnam, and Ethiopia. When asked by Italian state TV if they were ready for a fifth child, Pitt replied, “Yeah, we’re ready.” Sports V. Women’s Soccer league to start in 2009 Women soccer league will begin for the first time in soccer. The launch has been bumped back a year to 2009 and expected to begin in spring. Teams will be based in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New Jersey, New York, St. Louis, and Washington.
