NEWS RECENT DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNOLOGY IN TURKEY

BIOGAS Biogas Energy Investigation Group, which continues its studies under the presidency of Prof. Dr.Günnur Koçar contributes to produce biogas in Solar Termal Energy institute part of University of Egyne. Their aims are the followings: •Turning (transformation-transforming) biogarbage to fluid or gasfuel using appropriate biochemistic and thermochemical processes. •Supplying variety of benefits from this fuel. •Doing the experimental application of the procedure energy plants. The main principle, guarded in these studies is that, connecting different transformation technology with production of energy plants and solar thermal energy to make fertilisation higher and amount of garbage lower. So, biogas is producted by anaerobic yeast (with no oxygen) of different material with reactor supported solar energy. While the seeds are used to produce biodiesel, garbage of the plants are used as raw material in the procedure of proliz which is practised under sun rays. Investigation of this group aim to improve fertilisation process. They contain the investigation of different ways for improvement of the quality of fuel and methods of energy turning. The project, which aims to form a package of biogas for rural area is being continued now.
SATELLITE OF SPECTRUM X-GAMA In November 1992, Turkey participated an international Project fort he investigation of astrophysics. Aim of this project is examining the celestial body with Spectrum X Gama and Spectrum X Ray Gama.

Technical University) which was established by TUBITAK. •Preparation was started to plan and chochet the X-Gama datas. •The most important thing is that; an international organisation was established for young astrophysicians who will make investigation about X-Gama in Turkey.
MULTIMEDIA LABORATORY •Multimedia Laboratories, which continue their
studies in TUBITAK aim at connect information and technology and transfer them perfectly, although they are fairly new. •Multimedia is seen as an information and technology transfer tool in future.
Multimedia Laboratory in TUBITAK is used first to produce a solution about the subject of education, as the most important aim. •An investigation was started about multimedia studies at the end of 1989. In 1990, laser disc
technology was examined in abroad. Then the first product of multimedia about The Geography of Turkey was developed by using laser disc technology, with the help of Ministry of Education. According to this, a video plantom which has a problem, is recorded in laser disc and it is used with some programmes developed computer support. This product is one of the most important examples which was prepared to show how the future education have to be.
