SWOT

STRENTGH • • • • • • • •

Distributor network After sales service cost-effective low maintenance Indian middle-class low price, high fuel efficiency, reliability

Weaknesses • Cannibalises its own market share • The company said the profit figures were not comparable due to the additional impact of Rs. 61.90 crore resulting from the new depreciation policy introduced in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2008. • Low Resale value • Low engine capacity. • Increase the comfort level of Historious car maruti 800

Threats • Competition in small car segment • Maruti Suzuki India has posted a 7% drop in quarterly net profit due mainly to high raw materials costs and a new depreciation policy which outweighed a 13.5% sales rise • Price hike of raw material ie. Of steel

Opportunity • • • •

High end car segment Oversees market Improve handling Target SUV market (new launch GRAND VITARA) • Add extra features to small segment cars

Suggestions & Improvements • Increase true value centers all over India • Sustainability • The volumes in higher segments are very low and Maruti must jostle for space with a slew of models from the world's top carmakers such as Honda Motor Co Ltd, Ford and General Motors.
