The Apple iPhone 3G (third generation) was launched across India by telecom majors Bharti Airtel and Vodafone. India is one of the 20 countries set to get the i-phone on the second worldwide release date which is August 22nd of Airtel & Vodafone in the first week of September.

Bharti Airtel, formerly known as Bharti Tele-Ventures Limited (BTVL) is India's largest cellular service provider with more than 75 million subscribers as of August 2008.It offers its TELECOM services under the Airtel brand and is headed by Sunil Mittal.
