LESSON PLAN Date: 1st of April, 2019 Lesson: Green Spring Type of lesson: Acquisition and consolidation of knowledge; teaching vocabulary (communicative) Time: about 45 minutes Description of the class: Grade: Preparatory Class The students are children aged 6-7 years old. Specific competences: speaking, listening; Learning objectives:  to give further practice in using the previously learned vocabulary(i.e. Toys, seasons);  to describing an object, an animal by colour, size etc;  expressing preferences (i.e. I like spring because it’s warm.)  to have fun with English; Lesson Aims: At the end of the lesson, Ss should be able to do the following:  Easily name the seasons of the year;  Students will be able to share their knowledge of what happens during the spring  Acquire experience in expressing in English;  Use the previous knowledge regarding numbers and toys and cumulate it with the current one;  Practice the newly acquired vocabulary;  Develop great interest on the topic; Resources and materials: flash cards, laptop audio device, hand-outs, slips of paper, coloured pencils; Auxiliary: English with Nino, Amy Fisher Ungureanu, Editura Art Educational Teaching method: Communicative Language Teaching Teaching techniques: visualization, elicitation, explanation, monitoring, conversation, question-answer, mime and gestures; Student groupings: individual work, pair and group work; Interactions: T-Ss; Ss-T; Ss-Ss, IW, PW; Introduction : The lesson is based on the topic of learning the seasons of the year and spring related vocabulary. Students will take part in a series of activities well-chosen, in order to consolidate the above mentioned. The activities’ purpose is to offer more practice. PROCEDURE: WARM-UP: (estimated time: 5 minutes) Aims: -to greet the SS; -to relax the classroom atmosphere; - Introductory conversation; - to set a friendly atmosphere. 1

Interaction: T-Ss; Ss-T; Techniques; question-answer; Procedure: -T. greets the students; -T checks if anyone is missing; ACTIVITY 1: Name the season (estimated time: 5 minutes) - T asks Ss if they know what the word “seasons” means; - Several Ss share their ideas; - T explains what seasons are and names them in English: spring, summer, fall, and winter; - T has four flash cards at hand and asks Ss to name the season; -Several Ss answer; -T asks Ss to think about each season and ask the students to turn and talk to a partner about what they might see in the spring; - T uses pictures to show the differences between seasons (see appendix 1) Interaction:T↔Ps; Ss↔T

ACTIVITY 2: Spring vocabulary-revision (estimated time: 10 minutes) Activity: T introduces Ss in the aim of the lesson by asking them how is the spring characterized and is the weather like in spring, what clothes do they wear in spring etc; - several Ss will answer; - T also asks Ss which is their favourite season of the year; -T plays a video for Ss in order to familiarize them with spring vocabulary; -T plays the video for a few times, repeating and translating each word; Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOqlvHhY284 Interaction:T↔Ps ACTIVITY 3: Listen and sing (estimated time: 15 minutes) Activity: T asks if they remember the song Spring time and asfter that, puts the song for the children; - Ss listen attentively to the song and after that they say what was expressed in the song; -T plays the song for several times in order for the Ss to learn it; Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A16Cu6Ic1pA Appendix 2 ACTIVITY 4: Wrapping up the lesson : free practice (estimated time: 10 minutes) Activity: T asks the Ss to say what they have learnt in today’s lesson and express some of the words; - T repeats the words related to seasons, spring etc. - T has prepared a worksheet related to spring and hand it to the Ss telling them to colour it (see appendix 3) - T always checks how the Ss are colouring and gives advices, also, aks Ss to express in English what are they colouring and which colour are they using.
