LESSON PLAN Grade: IVth School: Şcoala Gimnazială „David Prodan” Săliștea Teacher: Matei Amalia Petronela Date: 04.03.2019 Type of lesson: Mixed lesson Lesson: Unit 9: What’s Your Favourite Food? Lesson 3 & 4 OBJECTIVES: At the ed of the unit, Ss wil be able to do the following: - talk about food, drinks and ingredients; - listen to and understand a short conversation about a recipe; - ask and answer questions about food items; - write a short recipe; RESOURCES AND MATERIALS: Pupil’s book, CD, video, audio, worksheets. TEACHING TECHNIQUES: visualization, explanation, monitoring, conversation, question-answer. STUDENT GROUPINGS: individual work, pair and group work; INTERACTIONS: T-Ss; Ss-T; Ss-Ss, IW, PW; STAGES OF THE LESSON / ACTIVITIES: WARM-UP: (5 minutes) Aims: -to greet the SS; -to mark the absentees; -to relax the classroom atmosphere; -to check previous knowledge; Interaction: T-Ss; Ss-T; Techniques; question-answer; Procedure: -T. greets the students; asks questions and words from the previous lesson ACTIVITY 1: Vocabulary revision (5 minutes) - T asks Ss the new words taught on last lesson; - T asks some questions so as to check their vocabulary and grammar using how much / how many - Ss answer the questions. ACTIVITY 2: Lesson consolidation (5 minutes) - The teacher names a pupil and asks him/her to read lesson 3 and, then, translate it into Romanian - The pupil reads and translates the lesson; - The pupils listen. ACTIVITY 3: Grammar consolidation: How much/ How many (15 minutes) Activity 3.1. - T asks SS to open the book at page 18, ex.3; - Ss are asked to look, listen and repeat the sentences; - T names students to read each sentence; 1

Activity 3.2. -T pass on to ex.4, p.18; -Ss are asked to match the words in the correct box; -Ss are asked to read each formed sentence. Activity 3.3. - Ss are asked to pass to ex. 6, p. 18; - T plays the audio support and Ss listen attentively; - Ss are aked to make a role play following the example from the audio support; -T is forming groups of two Ss and leave them 3 minutes to think. -each group will stang up and play the role. ACTIVITY 4: Grammar : Some / Any (10 minutes) Activity 4.1. -T asks Ss to look at page 19, ex 1. -T plays the audio support; Ss listen attentively; - T plays the audio one more time then asks Ss to start reading, naming a few Ss; - T explains the use of some / any to Ss; Activity 4.2. - T asks Ss to pass on to ex. 2, p. 19; - Ss need to complete the sentences using some and any. - Ss are asked to read each sentence. ACTIVITY 5: Wrapping-up the lesson (5 minutes) Activity: T asks Ss the new words, they are named to form sentences with the new words and using how much/how man and some/ any.
