Lebanon Road Report June 28, 2009 Another Sunday, another new addition to the Lebanon Road family. Last night it was announced that Heather Shea had placed membership with us at Lebanon Road. Heather is engaged to Jeremy Lamb, who was baptized about two weeks ago. He placed his membership with us as well. We are so happy that these two young adults are preparing for marriage as a Christian couple. Both come to us from the state of Mississippi. We took some time yesterday morning to study “Where Is God When I Hurt?” Life is hard, even for Christians, but those who are following God have certain things that give us assurance during life’s difficulties. We didn’t make our goal of 380, but we were still blessed to have 343 in worship yesterday morning, and a great number of ___ last night. Harry presented the evening lesson by walking us through Romans 6 in a fine way. The young adult class held services at Sycamore Terrace yesterday afternoon. It was such an encouragement to the residents to have 24 members of the Lebanon Road family present for that service! I hope more will decide to come to these wonderful services in the future. Michael Rader presented a lesson on “Three Families” that was a great encouragement to all.

LRR page 2 Special Note This Wednesday night (July 1), we are planning a very special service at Lebanon Road. Our regular adult Bible classes will all be meeting in our auditorium for a period of prayer for our nation. The class I am privileged to teach on Sunday morning is leading this service as a project for the congregation, and we are proud to be doing so. We will begin with a brief devotional period, then we will begin praying. Short introductions to each prayer will include historical references to our nation’s Christian heritage. We are going to petition God’s help in these turbulent times in prayers for our President and Congress, our court system, our education system, our state and local leaders, our military, our economy, our families, and our congregation. We hope all will attend. This is going to be a serious time, and one that is needed. Far too often we overlook the power of prayer. I firmly believe that God is pleased when we take time to pray in a serious way for our nation and other matters, and I believe that prayer “can change the night to day.” If you are able, please be with us for this very special evening. Wednesday night, July 1 from 7:00-8:00.
