Lebanon Road Report June 14, 2009 This was a tremendous weekend, and it started before the weekend started! On Thursday evening, it was an honor to baptize Jeremy Lamb into Christ. Jeremy has been visiting with Heather Shea, his fiancé, for some time. They have studied together for some time, and I had also talked with him some. About 5:15 Thursday evening, he put Christ on in baptism. It is so exciting to know that their home will now begin as a Christian home! But that wasn’t all. About 4:00 Sunday afternoon Caitlin Jones was also baptized for the forgiveness of her sins. Caitlin has been coming for some time, and has done a lot of study. After careful consideration of God’s Word, she was baptized yesterday with some of her family and some friends present. Two precious souls in just a span of a few days! What an exciting time at Lebanon Road. Even that wasn’t all the good news, though! Our elders have announced that we are seeking men to serve in the eldership alongside our seven presently-serving elders. Yesterday morning’s sermon was dedicated to the qualifications of elders. I can honestly say, it is a joy to know that we have several men who hold the Coming This Week... Biblical qualifications, and I pray that we, as a congregation will be wise in comparing the male memMonday-Wednesday: VBS 2009 (6:30 each bers of Lebanon Road against the God-given qualifinight) cations. But even that wasn’t all! Last night, we started our annual Vacation Bible School. While our numbers were a bit down from last year, our VBS got off to a tremendous start. We were blessed with several young people visiting with friends and some from the community.
LRR page 2 All told, we were blessed to have 347 in worship yesterday morning, and 274 for the first night of our VBS last night. JD did his usual wonderful job leading singing for the children and getting them excited about VBS, and all our teachers have done a wonderful work preparing for the School. Enjoy some pictures of the rooms and of our first night of VBS, and a couple from our work night last week, as well.
