Lebanon Road Report April 12, 2009 Wow! What a wonderful weekend we enjoyed in Nashville! My weekend got off to an early start, as I finished reading my Bible in my morning readings on Friday. I read the English Standard Version and now am beginning The Message. At night, I read the ESV in my daily Bible reading schedule from Lebanon Road. Each time I finish reading through God's Word it is a joy. (By the way, that makes 15 completed books in 2009 thus far.) Friday, we sat through storms, but we were fine. While winds got a bit rough, we only had rain at our house. Others were not so lucky. In nearby Murfreesboro, there is a lot of damage, and some perished in the storms. We are sad for that, but grateful we weathered the storms. We are also thankful that those at the Opryland Hotel for Lads to Leaders were safe. Friday night, we went to the hotel and enjoyed renewing so many friendships. At 10:30, it was a joy to lead singing for the convention. I don't know how many were there, but it was in the thousands. It was wonderful to see so many from 9th Avenue, and it was also a joy that over 20 from Lebanon Road came out to the singing! Here's a picture (taken by Carissa Roberts) of our group: After going back to L2L on Saturday and supporting several wonderful young people, we prepared for a wonderful Sunday... ...and we had it! On Friday, I had mentioned that I thought we could have 425 in worship. I should have asked for more, because our attendance was exactly 425! Our auditorium was nearly filled with folks from all over the place. Just from those who filled out visitors cards, we know we had folks from 8 states as well as Singapore! The singing was uplifting, and I just pray the lesson was helpful, too. At the beginning of our service, we were blessed to welcome two new members, as well. Daniel and Kristy Skelton have been visiting with us for some time, and we are grateful that this young couple has decided to work with us under the oversight of our elders. They will be a blessing to us, and we pray we will bless this good young couple as well. It was a wonderful weekend, and one I won't soon forget. We are blessed to be a part of Lebanon Road, and I'm thankful every day for the fine people who worship God here. May God help us as we strive to always be a shining light in Donelson and around the world.
