Andrew, Khawl, Jenny, and Mawite Kim
I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now. (Phil. 1:3-5)
Yangon Church – Praise the Lord for His faithfulness and His continuous blessings and guidance to the Yangon BP church. After two years God has blessed us now with two ruling elders. This week I held a salvation crusade for people who come to the church but do not have the true assurance of salvation. Four women joined the crusade. Praise the Lord that they all testified that they now have the true assurance of salvation in the Lord. Please pray for these new Christians.
Yangon Bible Presbyterian Church
Please pray for us and also other churches in Yangon. Recently some churches have been closed for using apartments for worship. And some orphanage centers run by Christians are closed too. Affiliated Churches Southern Chin State Churches – Churches in the southern Chin State are so happy to hear that God has helped them in their suffering through the ministry of the PMU. Please continue pray for them as they are struggling for their survival during this period of famine caused by rat infestation. Please pray also for me as I am planning to visit these churches next summer to encourage them in the Lord and give them training. [PMU note: If you wish to donate to this famine relief for pastors, please send donation to PMU marked Famine Relief.] Thinglei Church – The BP members at Thinglei remain faithful and are flourishing though surrounded by other denominations that are much bigger and more powerful. Please pray that God may provide them good and faithful elders to spiritually feed and to care for them.
Bonie is teaching the Lord’s prayer. Chicken farm donated for the children at the orphanage.
Orphanage Children – The orphanage children in Yangon and Aunghtaphe are growing in the faith and in their learning. Praise the Lord that a few young people from Perth BP church visited and provided them with small chicken farms and a few fruit trees to grow. Please pray that God will protect the Yangon children from disturbances from outside. Recently a few orphanage centers have been closed. Please pray also for support for the orphanage children.
Pre-school – Please pray for the preschool teacher Miss Mabiaki as she is coming back from India after receiving her Master of Religious Education. We expect the pre-school will see many improvements through her leadership this year. Salvation Camp – Every summer we host a salvation camp for the unbeAO Preschool lievers with whom we have built friendships. We believe that this is the best way to do evangelism in Myanmar. Unlike previous years, we will have summer camp in the first week of March. Please pray that many lost souls may be found and that they may see the Lord. Please pray also for the needed funds for this camp. We provide food, lodging, and transportation for the unbelievers who come to the camp. Every year we spend around $700. Mission Fields Inlay Mission Stations – Praise the Lord that the mission work in Inlay is growing. On Christmas day (December 25) I baptized a new believer at Kellar village. Before the baptism, the person shared his conversion testimony with boldness even before the unbelievers. It was so encouraging to see. Missionary Rev. Pazar and his family are in need of a motor boat for their transportation, so please pray that God will provide them a boat. Aungthaphe Mission Station – Church planting at Aungthaphe is growing. Recently a new family was added to the church. Please pray for the believers there that they may grow up and become a particular church. Pray for the church planter Mr. Ze Aung Thun and his family that God will grant them wisdom and strength in their services. Pray also for Mrs. Ze Aung Thun (middle school teacher) that she may transfer her teaching post at Aungthaphe. Nahum Mission Station – The church planter Mr. Soe Lwin will get married to Miss Thangtei, the AO Pre-school teacher in Yangon. They will be married on March 10. I will be conducting the marriage ceremony. Please pray for this. Leadership Training – Please continue to pray for the leadership training. Pray that PMU may send more WRS professors for the training. Please pray also for the missionaries/church planters who take WRS approved module courses for their ordination. Currently they are studying theology. “Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you...” I Samuel 12:23 Your fellow-laborers in Christ, Rev. and Mrs. Kim and family
