Relationships

NIV 1 Peter 4:8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. NEPAL: Wednesday Everyone needs love, compassion, and acceptance. In an ideal world those needs are met primarily in the context of a loving family. Unfortunately we don’t live in a perfect world and not everyone saw healthy interactions growing up. In light of this, we are focusing the month of August on strengthening our relationships. The topic of Adult Sunday School in August is the marriage relationship, using materials from the movie Fireproof. As Randy Hogue directs this class, it is our hope that existing marriages be strengthened; future ones prepared; and crumbling ones saved. Sunday mornings I will speak on a variety of topics related to relationships, looking to the Bible for guidance.

August 12th at 6:30PM the Ingles will be sharing on their ministry in Nepal. They will be setting up their Nepali Handicrafts for sale so remember to bring your checkbooks or cash. The proceeds pay women who have been rescued from the streets and enable them to care for their children. MOVIE NIGHTS: Wednesdays August 19 & 26 we show the film Fireproof at FCC.

Happenings...

Sometimes people don’t have healthy family relationships of their own, their family lives far away, or maybe they have all passed on. God sets the lonely in families, not only linking them up with individual families, but I believe He sets them in local church families. One of our greatest ministries as a church is to be a loving, accepting, and forgiving family of faith for all those God places among us. Will you commit yourself to other people at FCC, in addition to your own immediate family? Will you do your part to make us a healthy family?

COFFEE UPDATE: In an effort to be more user friendly, we are experimenting with a better level of coffee service. Please remember to put a lid on your cup and dispose of it later in the trash. COSTA RICA MISSION TRIP: Although we support missionaries all over the world, one of our favorite places to expose people to missions is Costa Rica. If you feel the Lord leading you to explore missions or want to reconnect with our church family there, then plan on going with us in the summer of 2011. We are letting you know two years out believing the economy will be improving and that this will give you time to save up the funds (everyone pays their own way).
