Nite @ the Movies NIV Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you be secure. As followers of Jesus Christ the Messiah, we Christians have been grafted into God’s people of promise—the Jews. Although God deals with all nations and peoples, His most definitive revelation of Himself was through the descendents of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The Old Testament reveals much of the nature of God, preparing the world for the unveiling of the Savior. The New Testament focuses on God’s self-disclosure in the person of Jesus Christ. The first believers were Jews who received Jesus as their Messiah and began to spread the message. Eventually the message became even more popular with non-Jews (Gentiles) as the news spread. Although today most Jews have rejected Jesus as their Messiah, God has not given up on them. A time is coming when many will once again respond to God’s gracious offer of salvation and will trust in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation. Our faith overlaps that of Israel’s past and we are told to pray for her peace.
