HOW TO BE AN EFFECTIVE TEACHERS

Being an effective teacher in giving guidance to students is a very important thing in educators. Because each student will learn something new from a teacher. Especially if we are a teacher who teaches a second language, we need to diversify our teaching patterns so that each student can understand and accept all the lessons that have been given. Therefore, as a teacher we need to be creative in thinking about how to reinforce the mastery of our students in using the second language.

Here are some features of effective teachers that can be motivated for teachers to be good teachers. Firstly, a broad view of the world of teaching that empowers human processes. Have a sense of humor, empathy to students, honest, flexible, democratic, scientific interaction, easy to mingle with students. Have a class that is always open and can foster student trust. In teaching and learning sessions, teachers should use two-way communication in teaching students about language because this way will make students more confident in using the language. Teachers also need to praise and appreciate students if they try to speak in the language and improve the students' weakness.

Secondly, teachers also need to have confidence and trust others and has extensive knowledge and information in its field. Respect for knowledge, always encouraging students to always learn to have their strength, spirit, happiness, and productive. As a teacher, we need to conduct a study on teaching materials that we want to convey to students so that any questions that will be addressed to us can be answered easily. In this way, students will be more respectful of us as we are able to answer their questions.

Next, teachers must be able to communicate effectively, able to develop interaction for understanding. When a teacher is able to interact correctly with the student, the student will understand the learning easily. Examples of correct interactions are to speak at appropriate speeds that are not too fast because students will hardly understand the sentence and will make the class quiet because the students do not communicate with the teacher. Teachers also must understand the capacity of learners to receive information by providing information according to the capacity of learners. So, teachers can describe and illustrate a concept in abstract or with real examples to understand students about learning if students have difficulty in understanding the given knowledge.

In learning, teachers also can use various learning methods. In this way, students who are difficult to understand learning in some ways will be easier to understand the learning if they are taught a variety of teaching methods. For example, teachers can make activities such as telling stories and encouraging students to ask if they do not understand the meaning of the verse.in other words, teachers must identify the behavior of learners who are not in line with the ongoing activities in the classroom.

Have the sensitivity to the needs of learners and be able to advise them appropriately. Teachers need to keep the sensitivity of students when teaching. When teaching in a school, teachers are faced with students of various races and nations. Teachers need to teach pupils without touching the racial sensitivities because if teachers do not care about sensitivity, students will not be interested in our learning. In addition, creative teachers are teachers who know how to achieve class goals.

Last but not least, teachers must calm down in any trouble. In other words, avoid excessive anger behaviors. Teachers need to be patient while teaching because when teaching children, they will easily lose focus and do something naughty. Therefore, teachers need to educate them in the most appropriate way and should not continue to punish them with severe penalties such as spanking. That will make our students scared of us and will not be interested in the study we want to convey.

In the nutshell, if a teacher wants his students to focus on learning, the teacher should be more open to thinking about what is best for his students. If the student made a mistake, Teachers need to be rational in such a way as to not give up their grudges against such pupils such as hitting them. Teachers must utilizing classrooms optimally in teaching not only standing in front of the classroom alone because it can get bored among the students. Teachers also must be more emphasis on appreciation than punishment in disciplining students.
