Aravali Institute of Management, Jodhpur Q.1 What is the product(s) or service(s) you intend to offer for your eCommerce Initiative? Ans.1 The product of our website is Handicraft and Antique Arts items like as Statutes, Tables. Sceneries, Antique Pots etc. and the service that we are intended to offering is that we are giving the platforms to all those who love to keep Antique Art items. It is a platform where sellers and buyers can meet and can do the transaction of Handicraft and Antique Arts items. Q.2 Does your E-commerce Initiative use some of the typical E-commerce business models? (Discussed in Chapter 1 of your Text book Page no. 14-16) If so, which ones and why? If you are not using any of the typical E- commerce business models, describe your business model(s)? Ans.2 Yes, our E-commerce Initiatives use some of the typical E-commerce model that is Electronic market place and exchanges. Because this website give the common platform to buyers and sellers to sell or to buy their product, and also give information about buyers and importers and exporters as well not only of India and abroad as well. Q.3 Which of the limitations of EC described in your text & presentation slides would hamper the development or growth of your Initiative? Can you think of ways to overcome these limitations? Ans.3 There are some type of non-technical limitation like as security concern because of having various type of credit card fraud so this is one of the limitation and another limitation is lack of unknown about E-commerce and not to rely on buyers and sellers because of not having physical presence of buyers and sellers. Sometime policies of different countries also become the constraint for the buyers and sellers while doing transaction globally. Q.4 Describe Porter’s competitive forces model as it applies to the E-commerce & Internet? Ans.4 Yes, Porter’s competitive forces model applies to the E-commerce and Internet According to Porter's Five Forces Model, in my opinion, competition has increased overall as a result of the internet and e-Commerce. The internet and IT has made it possible to both focus on the top and bottom lines and market share is expanded and costs are cut. Many products and services exist just online, major companies have gone online to successfully augment the brick and mortar corporations, and the playing field is all the way to edges of cyberspace, wherever that is. We will further evaluate this stepping through all five forces. Buyer power is higher when buyers have more choices. Businesses are forced to add value to their products and services to get loyalty. Many loyalty programs include excellent services that customers demand on-line. Customers want to solve their problems and many times they are more successful on-line than on-phone. Also, we see internet savvy businesses springing up offering more valuable goods and services at lower costs.

Aravali Institute of Management, Jodhpur Supplier power is higher when buyers have fewer choices from whom to buy. As mentioned earlier, drop shipping has increased the amount of suppliers available. All an individual has to do is form and agreement to sell products for the company. The company takes care of all the logistics. The same is true of associates programs that amazon.com and google.com offer. Threat of substitute products or services is high when there are many product alternatives. This is different than having many suppliers. Examples of alternatives are exchanging brand names, substituting credit card capabilities, and looking at better values from cheaper sources. The internet allows this with the "global economy". I can substitute my product by purchasing from companies overseas where labor, services and products are cheaper, but of comparable quality. Threat of new entrants is high when it is easy for new competition to enter the market. Well, what have we been talking about? Now, small operations can open shop with less than $10.00 per month and make a lot of money. As inventive as people are, there are always opportunities to do improve a product or service or just create and sell something new. Recently, many new entrants have made even more money authoring E-books that tell others how to do what they did. Rivalry among competitors is high when competition is more intense within industries. Q.5 Pick a name for your company, product or service and explain way the name you choose will help customers remember your company, product or service. Make sure the name you choose does not violate trademark or copyright restrictions? Ans.5 The name I have taken for my website is Old is Gold and I have taken this name because my website offers all types of Handicraft and Antique Arts items and as we know that our Indian culture consist of all type of Antique art items and especially India is famous for Handicraft items. And they are also known as Heritage of our country. Other than that these Handicraft and Antique art items are based on our ancestor culture so in order to preserve that we are giving them a platform to buy or sell these heritage assets. And these heritage assets attract foreigners so much that at any cost they want to buy all types of Antique arts products. And with the help of that our Indian culture is spreading all over the world, that’s why we have put our website name as www.antiqueitems.in Q.6 Pick a domain name(s) with the proper zone designation. Do a “FasterWhoIs” search to ensure that the name you choose is available. Ans.6 My domain name is .in and my website name is www.antiqueitems.in and the registering price for this is $7.88

Was cost the only reason for deciding where to register to name? If not, what were other reasons for picking that particular registrar? Ans.7 The internet name registrar that we use to register our domain name is .in and the cost for registering the domain name is $7.88, No the cost is not the only reason to decide the where to register the name. True ownership and control. Brand Building – customers will remember our domain and likely bookmark it or just type it into their browser to visit our site once they’ve been here once. Professionalism – having a site hosted by a paid service provider, with a custom domain, appears amateurish by special standard will impart a positive impression to our site’s visitors. Value – Companies have sold for much more than their financials would indicate, based solely on the value of their online company’s associated domain.
Q.10 Explain how the domain name(s) you choose will help customer that use search engines (like google.com) to find your website? Ans.10 A good domain name may be the key to your business website profitability. Many small business website owners falsely assume that their company name with a .com domain extension, is the best or only choice for their website. They put more thought into designing their logo than choosing a good, descriptive domain name. We chose seowebsitesdesigners.com because it immediately describes who we are and what we do, to both search engines and our website visitors. The best domain name for our business website, will immediately tell search engines what our website information is about. Unless your company name clearly describes our business activities, DON'T USE IT AS YOUR DOMAIN NAME. This is one of the most common mistakes made by new website owners. Having "My company.com" may be great for your ego, but it's usually search engine suicide! Unless our company name is full of the keywords that a potential customer would type into a search phrase, you will lose search engine referrals. Good page titles and good links to good business information help create a user friendly website and search engine referrals.
