Assisted Living Survey Results

We have evaluated the survey results from the 2007 resident and family satisfaction surveys. Thank you to the residents and families who participated in this years survey. Your feedback is very important to us. Below we identified our priority issues that we scored lower on than our state peer group or areas that were most important to you.

New Amenity at Watkins

Cheryl is working with Merchant’s Bank to create a Bank Day for their customers who reside at Watkins Manor. Bank Day will include services such as balancing check books, getting cash, or obtaining “new” money for gift giving. Please let Cheryl know if you are a Merchant’s Bank customer interested in Bank Day services.

Fall Fun At Memory Care

Watkins Manor x Priority issues we will be working on for family is: accuracy of bills, meaningfulness of activities, grow as a person opportunities. For residents they are: meaningfulness of activities, care and concern of staff, responsiveness of management and quality of amenities. x Next month we will share the many wonderful comments we received from residents and families. Adith Miller Manor & Roger Metz Manor x Overall satisfaction scores went up 5% from 83% to 88%! That is a great testament to the wonderful care of our staff and the great collaboration with our families. Our goal is to reach 90% satisfaction by 2010. x Priority issues for family we will be working is: safety of personal belongings, timely updates and communication with family about resident, and quality of amenities.

Memory Care was busy in October. Our outings to the Great Pumpkin Patch and Country Kitchen were well attended. The Halloween party was a ghoulish time!

winner for October. As we enter the winter months we will keep outings close to Winona. The garden is officially uprooted until spring. Thanks to everyone who helped maintained our garden for many to enjoy. In the past few months we have had some informative speakers: Sara Blair, LSW, gave a presentation on Living Wills and Advanced Directives, Larry Gorell, curator of education at the MN Marine Art Museum presented art and facts from the museum and Bill Kuhl from City Hall will talk about Winona’s historic ties to the railroad industry on November 9th . GOT YOUR FLU SHOT? A flu clinic was held on October 19th at all our assisted living facilities. 99.5% of residents received the flu vaccine.
