This program occurs in the form of a gigantic dinner party featuring cuisine from around the globe. Each of the food dishes at this dinner are prepared by the residents living in International House. This particular year, students in the neighboring residence hall, Honors House, also participated in preparing dishes and attending the dinner. At this program residents experienced and enjoyed eating dishes representative of other cultures. Students ate dishes prepared by residents representing the culture of Korea, Japan, Germany, France, Australia, United States, and other countries. During the actual dinner, students from International House and Honors House hung out, chatted and had a wonderful time learning about each other. It is certain that the residents also learned a lot about other countries around the globe by engaging in conversations. International Dinner was created in an effort to provide International residents with a positive and celebratory cultural dinner. This dinner provides the
International residents with a way to showcase both their cooking skills and the cultural of their homes. This program seeks to provide the International residents an opportunity to celebrate their new friendships that they created throughout the school year. International Dinner seeks to promote diversity through promoting cultural awareness this program promotes cultural awareness by providing the residents an opportunity to showcase their culture through preparing a cultural dish that represents their country for their fellow residents. This program is a UNC-Wilmington tradition that gives residents a fun and exciting dinner. This dinner provides the residents in International House with an opportunity to share their culture and home with their friends and fellow students. International dinner also provides the RA’s of International House with an opportunity to learn more about and appreciate their residents. This program promoted diversity on the campus of UNC-Wilmington. The residents of International House and Honors house created and presented cultural food dishes that represented each of their individual cultures. This program was very fun for the residents and provided the residents with a positive and constructive way to spend their time. Furthermore, the residents who attended the program learned more about other cultures, and were given an opportunity to celebrate the end of the year with their friends. The International Dinner could be adapted to other campus through collaboration with
