The object was to have the program be as close to the Jeopardy show as possible, with an educational twist. After residents answered the question correctly, we explained the answer in more detail to educate the residents as much as possible. Diversity Jeopardy was a huge hit at the conference so, as delegates, we were very excited to bring this idea back to the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW). As an Area Chapter, we wanted to create a program that would educate and leave an impact with residents. Our goal was to have participants take away facts about all different types of diversity that is around us at all times. Word Count: 41 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Positive and Lasting Effects of Program: Some of the positive and lasting effects of the program include having the opportunity to have 20 more students educated on the ideas of diversity. It is such a broad topic, and most students have their own idea of this concept. We wanted to expand their ideas and have them think outside of the box throughout the program and exercise. Our Area Chapter feels that we accomplished this through Diversity Jeopardy. Using the title Jeopardy, we were able to attract residents to the program due to their interest in playing the game. Diversity Jeopardy went extremely well, and we were able to educate 20 more individuals on the concepts of diversity. Diversity Jeopardy can easily be adapted to other campuses due to the relative nature of the program. When residents see “Jeopardy” written anywhere, they are likely to attend due to the competitive and educational nature of the term. Those wanting to put on this program will definitely need to research various aspects of diversity. Having those game show buzzers is definitely a plus. Also make sure that either a Powerpoint is created or information is written clearly on notecards. With these steps, there is no doubt that this program will be successful on your campus.
