REGULAR MEETING - MONDAY, JUNE 1, 2009 Minutes of a regular meeting held in the Rosthern Town Council Chambers on Monday, June 1, 2009 commencing at 7:00 p.m. Present

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Knoll at 7:00 p.m.

Reimer: That the agenda for the June 1, 2009 regular meeting be accepted as amended. CARRIED. Helmuth: That the minutes of the May 19, 2009 regular meeting be adopted. CARRIED.

Rescind #168.2009 197.2009 Janzen: That resolution #168.2009 be rescinded. CARRIED. Sign Restriction 198.2009 Greve: That the Town restrict the placement of signs at the corner of 4th Avenue and 6th Street. CARRIED. Gilbert Mack Property 199.2009 Reimer: That a letter be written to Gilbert Mack, inviting him to a Council meeting in order to inform Council of his intentions regarding the property located at 2002 th 8 Street. CARRIED.

Committee Reports 201.2009 Reimer: That the following committee reports be accepted as presented: a) Finance & Administration Committee Meeting, May 19 b) Fire Department Minutes, January 7 to May 21 CARRIED. Provincial P25 Public Safety Radio Systems 202.2009 Hinz: That a letter be written to the following parties, expressing Council’s dissatisfaction with the subsidies of the Provincial P25 Public Safety Radio System: MLA Denis Allchurch Minister of Corrections and Public Safety SUMA CARRIED. Correspondence 203.2009 Reimer: That the following correspondence be received and filed for information: a) Alan Hildebrand b) Saskatchewan Order of Merit CARRIED. Clothes Basket Request 204.2009 Janzen: That the request from the Clothes Basket be tabled until the next regular meeting. CARRIED. Community Event Permit 205.2009 Hinz: That Council approve a community event permit for the Rosthern Wheat Kings to host a ball tournament with beer gardens at the fairgrounds on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. CARRIED. _____ _____ Regular Meeting Monday, June 1, 2009 Page 3

Loretta Wiebe – Christlike Ministries 206.2009 Hinz: That Loretta Wiebe’s request for Christlike Ministries to conduct a fundraiser on property east of the library building be approved, and that she be informed that the Affinity Credit Union owns part of the property. CARRIED. Gated Community Concept Plan 207.2009 Greve: That Council invite Bryan Golanowski to a Council meeting to discuss his gated community concept plan. CARRIED. Dan Block Proposal – Highway #11 Pedestrian Tunnel 208.2009 Janzen: That Town Council agrees the construction of a pedestrian tunnel underneath Highway #11 to the Valley Regional Park is a good idea; however, Council cannot commit a financial contribution to the project. CARRIED. Genesis Request – Sidewalk Removal 209.2009 Hinz: That Council table Genesis Estates’ request to remove sidewalk along the north side of 5th Street until Council can physically look at the proposal. CARRIED. Harv Britton – Sale of Property 210.2009 Reimer: That as per an agreement with Harv Britton dated the 28th day of December, 2001, the Town sell Lots 23 and 24, Block 27, Plan A2555 for $500 on the condition that he insert vinyl strips in the chain-link fence along the whole south side. CARRIED. Adjourn 211.2009

Hinz: That the meeting be adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
