Allegations of Passenger Shot to Death On American Flight 11 on September 11th > A web-based publication called WorldNetDaify printed a copy of a leaked Executive Summary for AOA-1 produced by ACS on September 1 1th that contained preliminary information on the 9/1 1 hijackings. This Executive Summary reported that a passenger aboard American (AA) Flight 1 1 was shot to death on the flight. > According to AA Principal Security Inspector (PSI)|_ J someone at AA reported the gunshot to her by telephone that morning as events were unfolding. Her notes listed the source as Suzanne Clark at AA Corporate Security. Clark denies that she provided that information.

| is sure that later that day she spoke with someone else at AA Corporate Security who confirmed that the gunshot murder information was erroneous. The passenger was stabbed, not shot She believes the individual at AA who corrected the erroneous lationwasl I now employed by the Air Transport Association. | [spoke with Bidwell who says he does not recall if he was the source because so many events were happening so quickly that morning, but he says he may have been. > Lee Longmire (then ACO-1) states that the information about the gunshot murder on AA-ll was at odds with all other information they had on the flight's hijacking. They also dwl some checking and found that this information was erroneous. > On September 1?£ ]of ACO-600, wrote a revised Executive Summary with an updated chronology of the multiple hijackings on 9/11. In this summary, the erroneous information was corrected and it was accurately reported that the passenger on AA-11 had been stabbed, not shot. The FBI was aware of this initial report of the gunshot murder on this flight and has found no evidence to substantiate that a gun was used on the flight.

Well the executive summary that was done by this office said "knife and stabbed" and not "gun and shot". Obviously there is more than one copy of the document going around and I have no idea who authored the other one. I will do some more checking to try to find the source.

Suzanne, I'm sorry this keeps happening. Somewhere very early on, somebody did make mention of a gun and a passenger being shot but we clarified that before we put out our official timeline. I've checked with everyone I can think of to see where this "report" is that says a passenger was shot. I know that I talked to you early on in the incident beforeF Irnade it back to headquarters and on my big yellow pad where I was taking notes I have your name and then I have "10B Satam Al Suqami shot killed 9B Daniel Lewin Heading back to Kennedy" and the time 9:20. In the rush of everything

happening, I can only assume that this information was put on our original timeline of events but I know for a fact that this was subsequently corrected before it went anywhere. So I honestly don't know where this report was or who has been leaking it to the press and victims families. I spoke to my manager and she suggested that our public affairs people get with your public affairs people so that you and I can get out of this and make sure that both FAA and AA are giving the same information... that it is erroneous information and that nobody was shot, there were no guns. We know that's the case but of course the media is looking for some sensational story that's just not there. I also remember early on getting reports of a bunch of other planes going down which also was erroneous reporting. If there is a person in your public affairs office who's been handling the press on 9/11, let me know his/her name and number and I'll make sure that our folks get with them. Thanks and sorry for the confusion.

I received a call today from yet another radiio station, Fred Thys froom WBUR 617-353-0191 (BOS) who was asking me about the
document that said "I contacted the PSI and said there was a gun on board the flight." I don't even think I spoke to you on Sept 11 and if I did, I did not mention a gun because there was never any talk about a gun on board. I don't know how this happened but in case you get a call from him, I told him I never said that. Suzanne
