Subject: FW: SMH Article Would you print this for Tom? Thanks. Currently this is a manual process and relies on the immigration officer to make the determination that it's not the same person. In addition, our technology can read the biometric in the document if there was a chip inserted, along with authenticating the document's security features and can do so all in one pass. 2) The utility of our technology adds value at each of the stage in the process ... Visa - authenticating the passport being presented to obtain the visa Airport - authenticating the passport and visa at the international airport before or at check-in to extend the borders. This is how our DHS pilot worked in Nigeria. There is an enhancement being made to allow for fingerprints to be captured and checked so that the boarding pass is not switched, a problem that is also taking place in Nigeria. Border - Passport, visas, DL's, Alien Registration Cards, etc authenticated at the primary station as in Australia Internal Immigration - to be used as a cost effective forensic tool I would also suggest that our technology should be used as the person is exiting the country to ensure the right person is leaving and they are not presenting a fraudulent visa. 3) The system can be built in as part of the US VISIT program or as a stand alone enhancement to the current process. It can be deployed very quickly with minimal training and little or no integration to the current mainframe system. 4) Please see the attached list of documents currently support. We are currently working with the various government customers to constantly update the database. We see that working closely with US government agencies would greatly enhance this process. Let me know if you require anything else and whether you have a few moments to see the system in action. Rick

v™ticle Thank you for all the materials. A couple of questions:

1. 2. 3. 4.

Tell me clearly how if/when there is a biometric and photo the ppt physical security check is still useful. At what phases in the system is it most useful - visa, airport, border, internal immigration Could you build the program into the next phase of US VISIT Does your 5 read program cover the security features of every country's passport?

Thanks Susan —Original Message From: Carter, Rick [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, April 27, 2004 8:16 AM To: Susan Ginsburg Cc: Walter Hempel Subject: FW: SMH Article
