Subject: Confirmations for March Hearing Al: I read the following on CNN just now: "Rice's predecessor in the Clinton administration, Sandy Berger, has expressed a willingness to testify, according to Felzenberg. Secretary of State Colin Powell and his predecessor, Madeleine Albright, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and his predecessor, William Cohen, all have agreed to appear at the public hearing, Felzenberg said."

Although it is a forgone conclusion, to my knowledge, some of these people have yet to confirm (Cohen, in particular). I think that we need to secure confirmations as soon as possible. Dan, since you have a rapport with each of their assistants, would you mind placing calls to each of them? (Please wait until the FO signs off, though). You would not need to do this for Rice or Clarke, which we are handling separately as you know. Who in the Front Office has the action on Clarke?
