Team 2: Intelligence (Management, Collection and Analysis) Status: The Team has been active on a number of projects, including investigation planning, document requests, Commission hearing preparations, review of public literature, interview requests; however, our work has been impeded due to lengthy security clearance reviews, document request delays and some administrative issues. Accomplishments To Date: •
Staffed the Commission's hearing on congressional oversight in May.
•
Prepared the Commission's "determination" on what the Joint Inquiry did and did not cover in its investigation.
•
Performed an exhaustive review of publicly available materials on intelligence and counterterrorism activities.
•
Prepared a side-by-side analysis of the recommendations of previous Commissions on the Intelligence Community.
•
Studied the Congressional Joint Inquiry report, transcripts and interviews; prepared issues for discussion/investigation and developed key questions to improve our interviews.
•
Reviewed files of the Congressional Joint Inquiry maintained at CIA and NSA.
•
Reviewed the "time line" prepared by the DCI Review Group.
•
Prepared initial interview lists for front office review / coordination.
•
Prepared detailed document requests for: -
Office of the Director of Central Intelligence

Planning interviews in New York City.
•
Interview requests for former government officials prepared for Front Office.
