Summer Artfest Slated The St. Marys Community Public Library invites adult and high school or college student artists having a legal residence in Auglaize, Allen, Mercer, Van Wert, Hardin, Darke, Shelby, or Logan counties to enter the 20th Annual St. Marys Summer Artfest. Entry forms and rules are available at the Library circulation desk or on the web at www.stmarys.lib.oh.us. One may also request to have a prospectus sent through the mail by calling the Library. Prizes and awards include: Best of Show, $200, by Donald Glaser; 20th Annual Award, $150, by the Friends of the Library; Watercolor Award, $100, by Wright State University-Lake Campus; 3 Dimensional Award, $100, by Alex and Susan Pittman; Photography Award, $100, by Coldwell Banker-Plus One Professionals; Ohio Theme Award, $100, by Doris S. Lawler; Charcoal/Pastel Award, $100, by Bill & Jamie Carpenter; Oil/Acrylic Award, $100, by Hudson Jewelers; People’s Choice Award, $80, by the Friends of the Library; First Place, $80, by R. J. Burke Agency, Robbie Burke; Second Place, $50, by Wright State University-Lake Campus; and Third Place, $40, by Friends of the Library. Ribbons will be awarded to all winners and honorable mentions. Energy Audit Completed We’re thinking green at the Library. The Library building recently underwent an energy audit. The Board approved the recommended modifications to our existing systems, and we should be seeing reductions in our electrical, heating and cooling bills. For ways to save on your own utility bills, visit the Library on July 7 for a program on Energy Efficiency. Details are on page 2 of this Library Letter.

Music & Art @ Otterbein Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Living Community and the St. Marys Community Public Library host the Otterbein Channel Charmers kitchen band and special guests in the Meyer Community Room at Otterbein on Tuesday, June 2 at 6:30 PM. Local artists and woodworkers are invited to bring their artwork to display during the program. Refreshments will be provided and served by the Friends of the St. Marys Community Public Library and Otterbein St. Marys.

Edible Art Show Create an edible artwork based on a book and set it up at the Library from 5-6 PM. Our judges (to be announced) will choose their favorites from 6-6:45 PM and winners will be announced and prizes awarded at 6:45 PM. Play with your food at the Library & win!
