BISHOP MICHAEL THANKS TO ALL THE PARISHES who put in a team /teams for the Deanery Quiz last Saturday at Felixstowe and to the supporters who supported them . Winners were again St. Mary's "A" ,but all did well. Looking forward to seeing you all again next year with some possible changes being made . Thanks to all who helped, provided food, raffle prizes etc . KSC were able to send the "Samaritans" £100 .

will be here next weekend for his pastoral visitation. He will preside and preach at the St Felix and St Cecilia’s Masses and have lunch at the convent. After the 6pm Saturday evening Mass, there will be a meeting with him in the hall which will be partly a social but also, and more importantly perhaps, a chance for the Bishop to give a short talk and answer any questions which you may have concerning the parish and the diocese. At the recent AGM, it was decided to form a new PARISH ADVISORY COUNCIL which would meet monthly and make all necessary decisions concerning the parish in all aspects of its life. The first meeting is this coming Thursday, October 2nd, at 7pm and will take place in the Cooper Room. The main subject for consideration this time will be the recent Quinquennial report on the state of the buildings that the parish owns and for which we have direct responsibility. It is not the most thrilling topic but it is an important one. 1st COMMUNION PARENTS MEETING Tuesday, 30th September at 8pm in the Parish Hall. This meeting is for the parents of the children who will be making their 1st Holy Communion in June next year and it is important that at least one parent attends this first meeting of the programme. Please contact Fr David or Monica Macdonald if you cannot come.

RAGE YOUTH GROUP This group is for all young people of the parish in Year 7 and above. It meets once a month on a Monday evening in the Parish Hall from 7.30pm to 9pm. FOR THE GROUP TO SURVIVE AND BE SUCCESSFUL IT NEEDS THE SUPPORT OF THE YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE PARISH OR IT MAY HAVE TO CLOSE. SO COME ALONG TO THE NEXT MEETING ON MONDAY OCTOBER 20th FOR AN EVENING OF GAMES, MUSIC, CHAT AND FOOD. IT WILL ONLY COST YOU 50P!

IPSWICH HOSPITAL. ( A note from Mgr Peter Leeming ) If you, or a family member are to be, or have been, admitted to hospital please inform the Catholic Chaplain, Fr. Adrian Gates. You may contact him at St. James Catholic Church, Landseer Road, lpswich. 1P3 9LU. Telephone 01473 726701. In an emergency first phone Fr. Gates and if he is not available phone the hospital and ask the switchboard to activate the Catholic Chaplaincy Cascade. The switchboard will first ‘bleep’ Fr. Gates and if he is still unavailable they will phone the lpswich parishes beginning with St. Mary’s.

is holding an Open Evening on 15th October from 5.30— 5.30—8.30pm for pupils and parents of children in Year 6 and those in Year 11 due to transfer to Sixth Form in September 2009. This will be an opportunity for parents to tour the school’s recently enhanced and refurbished facilities which have improved the learning environment and provided additional places for students.
