FOOTWAY RENEWAL IN GAINSBOROUGH ROAD, FELIXSTOWE

I am writing to advise you that my contractor, Suffolk Highways Contracting, will be reconstructing the pavements in Gainsborough Road in the near future. The works are concentrated in the area between Constable Road and Ranelagh Road. The works are planned to start on Monday 13th October, and are anticipated to take about two weeks to complete. Unfortunately it will be necessary to close Gainsborough Road to through traffic between Hamilton Road and Constable Road for the duration of the works. The diversion route will via Hamilton Road, St Andrews Road and Constable Road and vice versa. I regret to advise that some disruption is likely while these works are being undertaken …

We will be having Rosary and Benediction next Sunday 12th at 4.pm at St. Felix .

RAGE YOUTH GROUP This group is for all young people of the parish in Year 7 and above. It meets once a month on a Monday evening in the Parish Hall from 7.30pm to 9pm. FOR THE GROUP TO SURVIVE AND BE SUCCESSFUL IT NEEDS THE SUPPORT OF THE YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE PARISH OR IT MAY HAVE TO CLOSE. SO COME ALONG TO THE NEXT MEETING ON MONDAY OCTOBER 20th FOR AN EVENING OF GAMES, MUSIC, CHAT AND FOOD. IT WILL ONLY COST YOU 50P!

IPSWICH HOSPITAL.

Apologies for the delay in starting with this but there are all sorts of matters that I have still to sort out. A start will definitely be made after Christmas and there is plenty of time between then and next October to complete a good programme.

BEETLE DRIVE & FISH and CHIP SUPPER Monday 13 th October at 7.30pm in St. Felix Church Hall. Tickets only £4, which includes supper but please bring your own drinks. ( A note from Mgr Peter Leeming ) If you, or a family member are to be, or have been, admitted to hospital please inform the Catholic Chaplain, Fr. Adrian Gates. You may contact him at St. James Catholic Church, Landseer Road, lpswich. 1P3 9LU. Telephone 01473 726701. In an emergency first phone Fr. Gates and if he is not available phone the hospital and ask the switchboard to activate the Catholic Chaplaincy Cascade. The switchboard will first ‘bleep’ Fr. Gates and if he is still unavailable they will phone the lpswich parishes beginning with St. Mary’s.

Retiring collection today for the money you saved on Friday fast day . If you missed getting a CAFOD envelope last week , there are more in the porch. Please use “Gift Aid” slip if you are a tax payer .

ST ALBAN’S CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL is holding an Open Evening on 15th October from 5.30—8.30pm for pupils and parents of children in Year 6 and those in Year 11 due to transfer to Sixth Form in September 2009. This will be an opportunity for parents to tour the school’s recently enhanced and refurbished facilities which have improved the learning environment and provided additional places for students.
