PARISH ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING 5th MARCH 2009 7.30 P.M. U

1. Apologies Were received from D. Thomas. 2. Minutes of 19th February meeting These were approved – J. King. V. Watts 3. Review of actions from previous meetings Action • J. King – Work to remove the tree at the front of the church has taken place. Further work was also carried out at an extra cost of £300on the cherry tree as one branch was fouling the overhead cables. The cherry tree was also found to be rotten, J. King/W. Ablard J. King to get council permission for removal next year. W. Ablard to remove. A replacement will be planted. Trees along entrance to Presbytery driveway to be trimmed following request by neighbour. W. Ablard • D. Richardson – The soap dispensers arrived and have been fitted. Liquid soap to be sourced. Old towels and soap to be removed. D. Richardson 4. Financial Report There has been no feedback as yet from last year’s audit. There is a current surplus of £4,672.97 from which there are some outstanding payments. 5. Diocesan Pastoral Plan N. Gorham, M. McDonald, T. Doran and T. Brazier met earlier today to make an initial assessment of the above plan which they quickly outlined to those present. N. Gorham will complete the plan ready for dispatch to the Bishop. N. Gorham Items arising from assessment of Diocesan Pastoral Plan • Welcome Pack created by earlier Parish Council Members to be updated and made available to new Parish Members. W. Ablard to email a copy to Fr. Hennessy. W. Ablard • Mark Jones to look into creating Parish email addresses to enable Parishioners to be contacted without giving their personal contact details. M. in Burgundy due to take place next July. Leaflets are available in the Church porch. Fr. Hennessy would like to send at least one male and one female aged between 17 and 21. Fr. Hennessy has had and offer of £500 to enable the Parish to Purchase a crucifix or corpus to be placed in the Memorial Garden. This was approved and Fr. Hennessy is to look into its purchase. Fr. Hennessy W. Ablard pointed out that part of the Pieta at the entrance to the Memorial Garden is disintegrating. Fr. Hennessy to ask Chris O’Brien to look at this. Fr. Hennessy Fr.
