 Introduction:

Blue brain in the first artificial brain to be developed. The technology that works behind the blue brain is called the blue brain technology. The blue brain is created using the artificial neural network . On 1 July 2005, the Brain Mind Institute (BMI)and IBM (International Business Machines) launched the Blue Brain Project. The aims of this ambitious initiative are to simulate the brains of mammals with a high level of biological accuracy.

Motivation: AI is captivating and rising topic in today’s era. How a machine “thinks” like a human really fascinates me and this domain captivated me in choosing a topic related to it. Four broad Motivations behind Blue Brain: 1.Brain Disease Treatments. 2.Scientific curiosity about consciousness and human mind. 3.Integration of all neuroscientific research result worldwide. 4.Progress towards building thinking machines. 22-03-2019

Literature Survey  In [1] the author Alain AJAMI presented the

development of a UAV ground control station simulator. The author proposed a module based description of the architecture of this simulator.  In [2] the authors Cristian Ramirez-Atencia, V´ıctor Rodr´ıguez-Fern´andez, Antonio Gonzalez-Pardo and David Camacho , proposed new artificial intelligence approaches for future UAV Ground Control Stations(GCS). 22-03-2019

Steps for Building A Blue Brain: 1. Data collection 2. Data simulation 3. Visualization

A. Data collection: It involves collecting brain portions, taking them under a microscope, and gauging the shape and electrical behavior of neurons individually. The neurons are captured by their shape, electrical and physiological activity, site within the cerebral cortex, and their population density.

B. Data simulation: It concerns with two major aspects: a. Simulation speed b. Simulation workflow

C. Visualization of results: RT Neuron RT Neuron is the main application that Blue Brain Project uses for visualization of neural simulations. The BBP team developed this software. It is coded using C++ and OpenGL. 22-03-2019

Uploading Human Brain First, it is helpful to describe the basic manners in which a person may be uploaded into a computer. The most promising is the use of very small robots, or nanobots. These robots will be small enough to travel throughout our circulatory systems. Travelling into the spine and brain, they will be able to monitor the activity and structure of our central nervous system. Nanobots could also carefully scan the structure of our brain, providing a complete readout of the connections between each neuron. They would also record the current state of the brain. This information, when entered into a computer, could then continue to function as us. All that is required is a computer with large enough storage space and processing power.

Advantages Of Blue Brain: 1. Approach to store and utilize human intelligence.

2. Move towards self-decision making 3. Business analysis, attending conferences, reporting. 4. Interface between human and animal minds. 5. Good remedy towards human disability.

Disadvantages Of Blue Brain: 1. Risk of human dependency on Blue Brain. 2. Neural schema hacking. 3. risk of machines conducting war against human. 22-03-2019

Applications

 Gathering and Testing 100 Years of Data.  Cracking the Neural Code  Understanding Neocortical Information Processing  A Novel Tool for Drug Discovery for Brain Disorders  A Global Facility  A Foundation for Whole Brain Simulations  A Foundation for Molecular Modeling of Brain Function.

Future Scope We can hope to learn a great deal about brain function and dysfunction from accurate models of the brain. A model of the entire human brain at the cellular level will probably take the next decade. As with deep blue, Blue Brain will allow us to challenge the foundations of our understanding of intelligence and generate new theories of consciousness. 22-03-2019

Conclusion  We will be able to transfer ourselves into computers at some

point. Most arguments against this outcome are seemingly easy to circumvent. They are either simple minded, or simply require further time for technology to increase.  Using the Blue Gene supercomputers, up to 100 cortical

columns, 1 million neurons, and 1 billion synapses can be simulated at once.  Despite the sheer complexity of such an endeavor, it is

predicted that the project will be capable of this by the year 2023. 22-03-2019
