Sporting Activities

Golf and Sport Golf Club Bad Waltersdorf English golf-course architect, Michael Pinner, realized a unique project here in Bad Waltersdorf, based on the principes of Feng-Shui. Imbued with natural energies, the golf course was dovetailed into its natural setting without having to make any major landscape changes, surpassing all tourist and sporting expectations. This attractive 18-hole, Par-72 golf course is designed to offer the very best, both for pros and beginners alike. Broad practice areas, a golf academy, driving range, short-game range, as well as putting and pitching greens, add the finishing touches to this splendid facility. The attractive clubhouse is the course‘s centerpiece and is ideally located right next to the driving range. From its terraces, you can look out over the entire practice area and a large portion of the course itself. As a charter hotel of the Bad Waltersdorf Golf Club, the Quellenhotel is proud to offer you the ideal combination of golf, relaxation and good health. As a guest of the Quellenhotel, you will enjoy exclusive preferred status at the Bad Waltersdorf Course, receiving guaranteed tee times and 25% discounts on green fees. Buschenschenk A Buschenschank is the name given to a small restaurant or “watering hole” of which many are found scattered through out the countryside. They are attached to farms or farming families and can only serve home grown produce to passing guests. To experience real Styria one must see the amazing selection of produce on offer, including an excellent range of wines, juices, breads, cheeses, meats, fruit and vegetables of all kinds. Whether passing on a hiking or biking trail or booking for lunch or dinner buschenschenk can be found from tiny kitchens to larger style restaurants. Wineries Styria is also well known for its excellent wine production. Some wineries have a buschenschank attached to them and others are there to be visited with production tours and wine tasting.

Exploring local culture

The riches of Styria

City of Graz A visit to our local capital Graz is an absolute must for guests staying for longer than a short spa break. Europe’s Cultural Capital 2003 is an enchanting medieval university city which has something for everyone. The best way to start is with a 2hour walking tour with one of the city guides. Having seen the main attractions one can spend hours wandering around tiny streets and passages popping into attractive boutique style shops. Café culture is strong here with an abundance of great bars and restaurants with outdoor seating. The Castle Trail Eastern Styria is known for the numerous castles and fortresses which can be visited. The castle trail is a route for enthusiasts to explore the local history behind these magnificent buildings. Riegersburg Fortress is the most famous and is situated on a huge natural rock formation and the fairytale style structure can be seen from miles around.
