Purpose of Evaluation What is Evaluation? -

Evaluation is the process of examining a subject and ratings it based on its important features.

Purpose of Evaluation: -

Measures the effectiveness of the instructor Measures the effectiveness of impact in meeting objectives Provide feedback to students Provides students gratification and motivation

Types of Evaluation As per Quality of Evaluation -

Quantitative o Provide a quantifiable objective measure o Expressed in proportions o Example: How many students have got >60% Qualitative o Communicative general expectations o Expressed in grading o Examples: What about his socio – economic status?

As per Time of Evaluation -

Formative (process evaluation) o Ongoing evaluation during an instructional period o To know the perceptions of the students in comparison to instructor. Summative (product evaluation) o Conducted at the end course. o Purpose is to form a judgement about  Performance of student  Effectiveness of an instructor  Effectiveness of the course o Regularly scheduled at the end of academic terms.
