Definition Rape is forced, unwanted sexual intercourse. Rape, sometimes also called sexual assault, can happen to both men and women of any age. Punishment for rape is prescribed under Section 376 of the Penal Code. Anyone who commits the crime of rape shall be punished for a term of not less than five years and not more than 20 years, and shall be liable to a whipping.
