Just a quick overview and our results from the weekend T20 comp. - 1st Round Robin game vs St Albans Easts batted first and got 137/3 with S.McGlashan top scoring with 62 and H.Jensen getting a quickfire 33no. Saints started very well with Branch getting 65 but when Ema came on to bowl she got the vital wicket which started a collapse in their batting with K.Minogue getting 3/18. This proved to be our toughest game of the round with us only winning by 6 runs. - 2nd Round Robin game vs OBCC We fielded 1st in this game and kept them to a total of 107/1 with all the bowlers bowling very tightly. Macca and Hayley top scored for us again in this game getting 44 & 29. We finished on 111/3 in 14 overs. - 3rd Round Robin game vs LPW/Syd Fielded 1st again with Park batting very slowly to get through to 97/3. Again all the bowlers bowled extremely well with wickets shared. We had a great opening stand between K. Pulford 32 & M.Nielsen 47no finishing on 99/2 in 13.4 overs. Final vs St Albans We lost the toss and were put into bat. Our top 5 batters came through for us again getting us through to a very good score of 147/4 M.Nielsen 33, S.McGlashan 35, K.Neilson 42 We got key early wickets which proved too hard for Saints lower order to keep the run rate up. They finished on 111/8 with M.Nielsen 2/31 and all the rest of the bowlers getting 1 wicket each. Very good performances all weekend by the team and we are very happy to have the first trophy in the cabinet for the year for the club. Cheers Kim

Game Report: Field change from Garrick to Burwood 2. East’s won the toss and choose to bat first. A great partnership of 211 runs by Macca and Katie P set up our innings of 306. Great tight bowling by the opening 4 bowlers applied pressure early. Parks run rate was always behind from the beginning and made it hard for them to chase such a high total. A great all round team effort.

258 Player of the Day: K Neilson

Game Report: Playing out on Burwood 2 today we won the toss and chose to bat. After an unfortunate start with Amy getting runout early on Krista and Hayley went about their business and had a great partnership of 179 ( Krista 94 Hayley 79 ) setting us up for a good total of 258. We knew that 258 is a great score but on Burwood 2 it is a getable total...we needed to hit a good line and length to defend this total as Old Colls have a strong top order. Unfortunately this didn't quite go to plan as they got off to a flier going at 8 an over in the first 10. We then brought on Morna on our left arm spinner, who bowled very well and picked up a couple of wickets and slowed their run rate down. At 200/4 we still were looking for the wicket of Old Cols white fern Katie Martin who was batting extremely well, we knew once we got her out we would have a good chance of rolling the tail. So on comes Morna for her second spell and she manages to have Katie out on LBW with her first ball...which we then had the next 5 wickets for 36 runs We also had some really good fielding performances with good catches taken and a couple of sharp runouts. Overall a great win by 22 runs.
