Dear friends…

mobile 07749 832010

Lots has happened since last time I wrote to you. I’ve been to Dorset, Swansea, Aberystwyth, Wrexham, Quinta, Llandrillo, Caernafon among other places! I had a really great weekend with family and friends in Dorset as we celebrated the wedding of Dan and Chess back in October. The weekend after that my family came for a short holiday in Anglesey, meaning I was able to enjoy spending some more time with them and they could see what it is like up here. Life in Bangor is getting more and more normal. One of the real highlights of the past few weeks has been developing friendships with Bangor students and with people in the church I have joined. Although things can be tough, especially when I have a day off and realise that I don’t have much to do outside of work!

What has God been saying to me? Lots! Everyday I am reading, listening to and studying God’s word. It’s a real privilege to be able to devote so much time to such precious stuff. I don’t want to become spiritually fat, but to be able to apply what I learn and share it with others. The danger is that all the Bible studies, sermons, theological study and reading increase my head knowledge but my heart remains unchanged, or little changed. Please pray that I wouldn’t be a hypocrite but would live out what I am learning, and make the most of the unique opportunities I have this year to study and learn.

Looking back I don’t want to just keep asking you to pray for things and never tell you how they went. Please tell me if I do.

One vision week

In the last week of October the UCCF Wales team organised special meetings in Swansea, Cardiff, Bangor and Aberystwyth. We aimed to challenge and inspire CUs to have a bigger view of Jesus Christ and His gospel. It was a hard week, and things went wrong, but the message went out clearly.

Una and I at the wedding How can I pray for CUs? My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely

Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments. Colossians 2v2-4

IFES day of prayer

IFES (International Fellowship of Evangelical th Students) brings CUs from all over the world together. On 6 November christians students were praying for each other all round the world. We joined in in Bangor. It was great to be part of something so big.

UCCF Welsh team day

We had a good time together in beautiful Swansea. We learnt lots, laughed lots and prayed lots. It was great to catch up with friends in the CU and spend time with my pastor.

Bangor CU weekend away

We had a really great time away in the Qunita. The students were reminded of the good news that is the gospel of Christ and the need to share it. They were given practical help in how to do it to. I led a seminar. The weekend was really great for deepening friendships within the CU, this was especially the case on the Saturday night as we all dressed up as animals!

Me. Or is it a polar bear? Hard to tell I know!
