DRUG AWARENESS CAMPAIGN Activity: POEM WRITING CONTEST Theme: Life is Journey : Travel Drug Free Purpose: Aims to raise awareness on the harmful effects and ways to avoid drugs by writing and appreciation of poetry through poem writing contest. MECHANICS: 1. The contest is open to all Alangilan Senior High School students. Each section shall have one (1) representative. 2. The poem-writing contest will be held on September 19, 2018, 07:30 – 09:30 A.M at ASHS Library. 3. Registration will start at exactly 07:30 A.M. Contest proper starts promptly at 08:00 and will end at exactly 09:30 . 4. Each entry will be identified through number codes, which will be given upon registration of every participant. 5. On the day of the competition, the contestants will be given 1 hour and 30 minutes to draft and finalize their poems. The poem may be written in English. 6. The poem must be in participant’s handwriting with 6-8 stanzas, and there is no word limit in each line. 5. Participant will be provided with paper. 7. Contestant will be held accountable to any issues that may arise with regards to the originality and authenticity of the entry. 8. No one is allowed to go out of the room while the contest is still going on. The use of cellular phones during the contest proper is not admissible. 9. Judges’ decision is final and irrevocable. The said contest shall be judged according to the following criteria: Relevance to the theme 50% Creativity/Style and Originality 30% Coherence of form and structure (harmony of words, presentation) 10% Clarity of imagery and language 10% TOTAL - 100%

POEM WRITING CONTEST

Mechanics: 1. There will be at least one (1) participant per division. 2. The poem-writing contest will be held on February 10 at Room F511. 3. Registration will start at exactly 3:40. Contest proper starts promptly at 4:00 and will end at exactly 5:45. 4. Each entry will be identified through number codes, which will be given upon registration of every participant. 5. Participant will be provided with the necessary writing materials, such as ball pen and paper. 6. No one is allowed to go out of the room while the contest is still going on. The use of cellular phones during the contest proper is not admissible. 7. Poems must have a little in consonance with the theme, “Atenista Ako.. May Paglaom” (An Atenean: Bearer of Hope). 8. Poems may be written in English, Tagalog, or Visyayan. Titles must be consistent with the language chosen to be used. 9. Entries must only have 4-6 stanzas, and there is no word limit in each line. 10. All poems that will be submitted by the contestants will become property of the Social Involvement Coordinating Office.
