Open Your Heart Close this for the love of God.
Oh, Beatriz open your heart for me.
Context: Rick, an adolescent of 16 years, writes for the section " Open your heart" of a magazine, asking for advice.
OPEN YOUR HEART Melissa listens to you Dear Melissa, I’m 16 and my friend think I’m polite and one of the nicest guys in the group. The problem is that I get shy when I’m near the girl I’m in love with. When I want to invite her to go out, I become very nervous: my heart beats faster, I start to sweat, and I can’t say a single word. To be honest, I’m afraid the girl might say ‘no’. So I get depressed and I start eating a lot of junk food. And worst of all, I’m getting fat. What should I do to get over this problem? Rick
A lot of people get nervous in situations like this. You’re not the only one. First of all, you should believe in yourself. If a girl says ‘yes’, that’s fine; but if she says ‘no’, you shouldn’t worry so much. Every person is different. If a girl doesn’t want to go out with you, she should have her reasons. You should think about your own qualities. Second, you should eat healthy food instead of junk food. It will make you feel much better. Third, exercise! Take a walk, go cycling, keep fit! You’ll relieve stress, and be healthier and happier. Finally, you should think about yourself, release your tension, and breathe deeply. Don’t give up! Try again. The next answer may be ‘yes’. Good luck! Melissa
