The rotor has narrow slits close to the centre where air is dispersed. As the rotor sucks water from underneath the machine bubbles of air disperse into the water passing the slits. The aerated water exits the machine through the stator tubes ensuring even water and air distribution all around the basin. The low speed rotation ensures that flocks are maintained. The turbulence at the tip of the rotor blades enables high oxygen transfer. Description 1
Aerator Type ABS Venturi Jet Jet aerator with single or twin diffuser pipes, for fixed or portable installation, coupled to a Premium Efficiency pump from the XFP range.
Applications For the combined aeration and mixing of wastewater in small and medium sized tanks. Also for the cleaning of storm water tanks and for use in balancing tanks where a combination of aeration and mixing reduces septicity and minimizes odours.
Features * Stand-alone, self-aspirating system, with the option of fixed installation with guide rail and pedestal, or portable installation with stand. The portable option is especially suitable for emergency or intermittent aeration tasks and allows for variable positioning in the tank. * Uses standard XFP pump featuring continuously rated Premium Efficiency motor, double mechanical seals, and temperature and seal monitoring. * Blockage-free hydraulic design with Contrablock impeller. * Lower noise levels and reduced spray compared to surface systems. * Maximum allowable temperature of the medium for continuous operation is 40 °C.
Venturi injection principle The venturi jet aerator is based on the injection principle that produces an effective air-water mix which results in optimum aeration and suspension of solids. The velocity of the primary flow of liquid from the pump is accelerated when pumped through the smaller nozzle inlet, lowering the internal pressure which draws in the secondary flow of air through the air inlet pipe. The liquid and air flows are then mixed in the turbulence of the diffuser pipe and ejected as a jet of fine air bubbles into the tank. 1

Submersible Aerator Type ABS XTA/XTAK The submersible aerators type ABS XTA/XTAK are suitable for all gas-liquid reactions at temperatures below 70 °C and pressures below 2 bar absolute. Applications in sewage and water treatment Mixing and equalizing basins: Equalizing of wastewater pollution load and wastewater quantities, as well as avoidance of odour problems. Activated sludge basins and SBR reactors: Biological degredation of organic substances. Sludge stabilisation: Avoidance of odour problems as well as further oxidation of the organic substances. Flotation: Flotation of oil and grease. Lagoon aeration: Improvement of natural aeration. Neutralization: Neutralization of alkaline wastewater with CO2 or flue gas. Operation principle The Sulzer submersible aerator type ABS XTA/XTAK is a submerged motor, blower, pump and mixer, all combined in one unit. It consists of a star-shaped impeller directly connected to the motor shaft, a stator surrounding the impeller as well as an air pipe to atmosphere. The impeller rotates inside the stator creating a vacuum and automatically aspirating air through the air pipe. At the same time, water flows into the impeller, is thoroughly mixed with the air and radially discharged through the channels of the stator. This system ensures fine bubbles. XTAK = extended channels increase SOTR and SAE values up to 15 - 20 %. Dimensions
